That is a rather broad brush you have there. In fact increasingly Republicans are becoming far more conservative. The complaints should be focused on those Republican Senators who made this power move because they do understand that and see themselves becoming increasingly on the fringes of the party. This was, if you will, their last gasp. Make a example of one or two and the rest will fall in line.
The Republicans in the House act like they actually are the majority because they are used to the idea. So far a few Republicans in the Senate, (13% if you want to be exact) do not grasp this concept.
However to flail around yelling about Republicans in general rather then concentrating on those who have trespassed seems to me to be a invitation to defeat.
Do what you like but that is just my $0.02
Here in Texas, "Republicans" are fighting against conservative led efforts to cap property tax hikes (which are being raised to the max level far too often). This goes all the way up to the governor's office.
They forget who put them in office and what policies are spelled out clearly in the party platform.
There are RINOs in the party. This is not news. The majority party gets to control things (regardless of how many members are in Name Only). When those RINOs and CINOs start mucking around with policy, it leaves the questions, "Well, just what power does the majority party have?" and "If you don't like being a Republican, why do you run under this party name?"
