This person suffering from hereditary defects costs the people 60,000 Reichmarks during his lifetime. People, that is your money. Read 'New People'.
That is debatable, but I won't argue the point. He has however offered to treat Terri for free. What is the pro-death side afraid of?
And abortions cut down on crime, too!
Bump for good, informative post.
Here's a small mystery to me. My mother fed my little sister for several years with a feeding tube. It's not fun, but it's not nuclear physics. I'd like to hear why Terri's parents can't do the same.
By the way, who's paying for Terri's care?
This, from Harvard's Quack Watch, doesn't say much for the credentials of Dr. Hammesfahr.
Conclusion
The theoretical basis for Hammesfahr's vasodilation treatment for stroke clashes with current knowledge about stroke physiology. In fact, the prevailing current belief is that such treatments should worsen stroke outcome, not improve it. I believe that vasodilation treatment for stroke patients should be done only as part of an approved peer-reviewed protocol that includes informed consent about the treatment's experimental status and possible risks. Because of the potential risk, I doubt that an institutional review board would permit such a study unless animal studies can demonstrate that the treatment is safe and potentially useful.

I agree with you that they should at least try.
What bothers me about Hammesfher is that he has used language that is misleading.
And that report he made that gives everyone so much hope... He and her parents' lawyers made a point to avoid putting it into evidence so that it couldn't be subject to examination in court. When Felos tried to point out the holes in it, they stopped him because "it wasn't used as evidence."
Doesn't that tell you a lot about the quality of the report itself?
His claims on the stand weren't nearly as grand.
I'd for sure give her therapy, but if she were my sister...well, I might give him a shot, but I'd rather take her some place else - even if it cost a lot. He doesn't even have hospital privileges anywhere.
Why am I not surprised? Other Nobel recipients were Jimmy Carter and Yassar Arafat.
"Up until now, the quackbusters have been mostly defeated when they attacked one of America's health heroes, But this case joins the new breed - the offensive against those determined to withhold good health care in favor of the status quo."
He isn't a recipient of a Nobel Prize. He may not even be a nominee.
All that is is a letter by a congressman suggesting the committee accept him as a nominee.
He was asked to bring evidence that it was accepted to trial, but he didn't. I don't know if he has ever since cleared it up for people.
That is written by quacks, and refers to a lawsuit filed (and only filed) by quacks (ask your dentist) against quackwatch because they published that the quacks were quacks. lol
(I'm not calling Dr H a quack, just saying...)
I'm sorry this happened to your father. I'm sorry this is happening to fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters all across the country. I pray we can turn back the tide.
Mainstream medicine is reluctant to recognize anything out of their norm. Quackwatch testified against Dr. Hammesfahr and lost the case in 2003 as you can see in this publicity publication.
Quackwatch are quacks if they lose in court.lol If you don't like the guy that is fine, but you can't put anything on him other than your opinoin

From video Terri Big Eyes; see it at www.terrisfight.org-- http://www.terrisfight.org/
Terri starts out apparently asleep. A doctor wakes her to start his tests.
Doctor: Terri. Open your eyes up...
Terri: (Startled at hearing her name. She starts moving her mouth and fluttering her eyes, like a person who is just waking up)
Doctor: Open your eyes, Terri open your eyes
Terri: (slowly at first, Terri struggles to open her eyes, then turns toward the doctor, and opens her eyes a normal amount)
Doctor: There you go, good.
Terri: (then, either to show off(?) or wanting to perform well, she leans further forward toward the doctor, looks straight at him and opens her eyes as WIDE AS SHE CAN. >> Note the WRINKLES ACROSS HER FOREHEAD caused by her also RAISING HER EYEBROWS as high as possible )
Doctor: [now obviously impressed] GOOD!! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB YOUNG LADY! Good Job.

Yesterday, Michael Schiavo called the cops on us during a peaceful protest in front of his house. "He repeatedly called the police again and again and again... Michael never came out of his house."
"He watched us through the blinds and through the windows in his garage. Schiavo told the police that the two men from the Franciscan Brothers for Peace were terrorists. An officer pulled one of the brothers aside and asked him why he was wearing a dark cape. Brother Paul explained that he was from a religious order of brothers and he was wearing the religious habit. Bro Paul said they were in Florida to protest Terri's death sentence." by amdgmary
Poor woman.
Posting pictures of her in this sad condition is just the violation of Terri's privacy that people fear most for themselves.
Who could think that anyone would want to be poster child for a bunch of zealots and wind up being pitied by millions of people by having such pictures spread across the world wide web.
