The other day, I shared with you the information regarding 'Intelligent Design', as presented by Pat Robertson, founder of the 700 Club, at a National Press Club Meeting. He was asked by the chairman exactly what his stand was relating to creationism and evolution - the way it is being taught in schools today - particularly colleges and universities. I looked up 'Intelligent Design' , and posted what I had found here on the board. In addition, I sent an email to Mr. Robertson, through a section of his site called, 'Bring it on'. I specifically asked for scripture to back up his beliefs. The following is ananswer to the email I sent. Forgive me if I offend anyone - don't mean to, as I love you all - but if you hold scripture to be TRUTH, I think you will get a laugh, and possibly be appalled at this answer.
"Thank you for sharing your view concerning Pat Robertson's comments on the six days of creation as recorded in the book of Genesis. The following is a statement by Pat Robertson:
"I believe firmly that Almighty God created the heavens and the earth and everything that was originally found within them. According to the Holy Bible, the creation of life was accomplished in ascending order from the more simple creatures to man himself. The Bible records that this was accomplished in "six days." I stated that a solar day was different from an earth day; a galactic day is different from a solar day; and a universal day is different from a galactic day. Dr. Albert Einstein has shown that time is relative to speed. Therefore clocks run slower as the bodies on which they are located accelerate toward the speed of light. In short, a "day" does not have to be 24 earth hours. The Bible itself says, "a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day." However, let me hasten to add that the position that I have held for decades agreeing with Einstein in no way supports the teaching of chance evolution that is currently in vogue in our society."
