Oil belongs to the earth and its inhabitants not to the people who steal it and sell it for their own gain.

A chicken in every pot and an oil refinery in every garage, that would make America great again.

Vandana Shiva speaks pointedly of how tired she is of hearing "they're only living on a dollar a day" plaints. She elaborates with stories of how wonderfully the people in her area of Punjab Province were doing living on zero dollars a day.

Let me guess; taken a course in modern women's literature recently?

For a good discussion of the proper role of government intervention in free market economy, try The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek.

In a nutshell, he endorses government actions which serve to enhance competition, not limit freedom or arbitrarily "regulate" the market.

There is absolutely zero positive about capitalism be it small business or big business...

Er...capitalism created both of the aforementioned.

...the parameters of an economy based on capital is incapable of gauging and living within the limits of the land. a more egalitarian way of divvying up a profit-growth based economy still does not take into consideration the sacredness of work and the intrinsic value of non-human beings.

So that's it. Capitalists don't appreciate the intrinsic value of the ET population.

One could bang his/her keyboard until one was blind listing all the ways capialism fails, is abusive, is destroying futures, lives, hope and dreams, the enviorment...Norm Chomsky said it best: Corporate Capitaism only wants one thing; they want it all.

Oh dear God, one Chomsky is WAY more than enough for the world. Now we find out he has a brother named Norm? ; )

As always PJ, thanks for the daily dose. This one was more disturbing to me than it was funny though. These ants are certifiable.

Capitalism is a disaster. It produces an obscene amount of plastic garbage.

So stop buying anything. Your effort could make a difference.

It wastes countless amounts of precious time of people by pelting them constantly with audio and visual trash (advertising, which is also a major waste of trees and bandwidth as well).

Kind of like all those John Kerry and Moveon.org ads.

...bioregionalism means you are aware of the ecology, economy and culture of the place where you live, and are committed to making choices that enhance them.

Sounds like the deal I have with the farmer on who's land I hunt whitetail deer.

"Anyway, if you don't know about bioregionalism, you should at least read up a little on it. What is bioregionalism? Bioregionalism is a fancy name for living a rooted life. Sometimes called "living in place," bioregionalism means you are aware of the ecology, economy and culture of the place where you live, and are committed to making choices that enhance them. A bioregion is an area that shares similar topography, plant and animal life, and human culture. Bioregions are often organized around watersheds, and they can be nested within each other. Bioregional boundaries are usually not rigid, and often differ from political borders around counties, states, provinces and nations. Ideally, bioregions are places that could be largely self-sufficient in terms of food, products and services, and would have a sustainable impact on the environment" How many human lives is this Utopian willing to sacrifice for his dream.

Remembering that untill the computer chip the Soviet economy was equal to ours...

If it was equal to ours they would have created their own computer chip.

The song's great, but that part about it being by "Ohio Suppress" is the best of all.

That just fell into my lap. The DUmmie-Yummy rhyme gave me the idea for the song, but the fact that it was by Ohio Express was just too good to be true. Who knew that young Karl Rove could have planned it that way, way back in 1968?

The really funny thing is that most of what are called "artists" these days are the force that has destroyed art.

OK I have my asbestos shorts on so fire up your blow torches to flame me. Are we all lit and ready?

OH and you DUmmie trolls will love this. Don’t call me because I don’t have any.

Is capitalism good or bad? Unregulated, uncontrolled capitalism is great. Lets look at two products. One regulated one not. The regulated product cost 3 times as much to grow as the unregulated product. Because of inspection the regulated product has to be grown outside of its natural habitat. It has to be fertilized. To control insects herbicides have to be used. The unregulated grows in its natural environment with little intervention from man. It cost 10 times as much to transport the unregulated product. Internationally both employ about the same number of people. The people associated with the unregulated product earn over 3 times the money as the one’s associated with the regulated product. Both products are addictive and both contribute nearly equally in health care cost. The products? Regulated: Coffee. Unregulated: Cocaine.

Anyone who has been through a advanced marketing class should know this study. Especially those ultra leftwing Universities.

Go ahead flame away. I know all the negatives that come with drugs, first hand. I also know the potential if we chop off the greedy hands of government and do away with the Great Nanny State this countries government has become.
