I say again, so? Two mistakes in talking 15 hours a week for ten years. That ain't bad. The question was, How often does it happen?
I accept his peccadilloes because I've seen an earlier generation of abrasive conservatives squashed. It's not enough to ignore them. Some feel the Savages must be destroyed.
As Savage has stated over and over for ten years, give it back to the leftists. We could not do that before 1987 lest radio had to give free time to opponents -- the very same opponents who already owned TV except for Buckley's Firing Line.
As Barry Goldwater said, extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. . . .
I believed it then and I believe it even more today.
I like savage.
he sees the islamic threat very clearly and on our need to address it decisively
he also sees injustices against americans of all shades, blacks, whites and hispanics.
Instead of being weak on terrorism and instead of channelizing his energies into dividing our nation along whites, blacks and hispanics; he is trying to unite it from within by bringing the whites, blacks and hispanics togher to help it confront the threat abroad.
He is also a capitalist much like everybody else. But he feels that american businesses should hire americans. since they derive their wealth from the american people, they owe the american nation a favor in return.
Capitalism is a two way street. A one way benefit would be socialism right?
Why should american businesses make their money in america, yet hire from abroad.
how would these businesses be to different to foreign businesses?
today the globalists from the left have jumped onto the conservative band wagon, just because its the winning wagon.
They have imposed their globalist agenda with a spin on capitalism by calling for american industry to hire from abroad, by encouraging them to outsource, while they completely open up the american market to businesses that contribute nothing to america.
If our business make their profits in america, but hire from abroad and invest abroad, it isn't capitalism, it's the socialist notion of redistributing the world's wealth from the wealthy states to the poor.
We have been sending our technology abroad to third world countries and coupling their cheap labor with it
Our technological edge was our only competitive advantage that supported our wealthy life style.
Now if we send our technology abroad, which the third world nations would couple with their cheap labor, we'd have no other means to compete with them other than to lower our wages and force our people into a third world existence
Now is giving your technolgy waay so that others can benefit while you go jobless, a capitalist or a socialist concept.
The man is a self-serving ego-maniac who should be on prozac.
No, no. Not Prozac. Lithium. Trust me.
That's my point, Savage is over the top on many issues, he pretends to be the last word or the only word that is valid on subjects he knows very little about.
...at the end of the day he's on America's side, which is more than I can say for the media in general.
That's is very true.
Savage needs to take a vacation and get over his dog dying.
You really think it's only two? Must be nice to be you
I accept his peccadilloes because I've seen an earlier generation of abrasive conservatives squashed.
Names, please.
It's not enough to ignore them. Some feel the Savages must be destroyed.
He's not exactly the second coming of Barry Goldwater; he's more like the second coming of Morton Downey Jr. Tink that's harsh? Savage is a guy who used to show a picture of himself skinny-dipping with poet/pedophile Allen Ginsberg as his introduction to meeting new friends.
In just the past week, he bashed the Reagan funeral for having too much coverage, mocked Margaret Thatcher's way of speaking (never mind that she's had several strokes) and ripped Bush for not slamming Clinton at the portrait unveiling. And we're supposed to support this clown just so we don't get accused of eating our own? He's the one doing the all the feasting here!
And mark my words, he will not endorse Bush, because he doesn't think the Republican Party has kissed his butt enough. That's nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with his inflated opinion of himself.
yeah right, anyone who doesn't support the globalization is over the hill and should be on lithium.
With the globalists, it's wrong to hate islam or muslims, but compulsory to hate one or another american ethnicity.
According to them, whites should hate blacks and hispanics.
blacks should hate whites. So that the globalists can then leverage the different groups against each other to hold onto power.
It's also compulsory to hate europe, america and china, so the globalists can then manipulate these differences to leverage power for themselves
Look at the ADL and the muslim. In Europe these trouble makers are busy portraying bush as the evil incarnate and rallying the world against america.
while in america, they are trying to rally americans against europe, russia and china.
You'd find them as the trouble makers on both sides of the fence.
They seem to be the greatest spreaders of hate and fear on this planet.
If anyone needs to go on lithium its this islamic-ADL duo.
Not only no but hell no. I'm not saying that. Actually I can't even complain about the invective used here against Savage since he uses it against leftists (mostly).
So he should be silenced for not marching to the beat of mainstream Republicans? The left wants him off the air and mainstream Republicans want him to shut up.
Names? Joe Pyne comes immediately to mind. Others in the "Fairness Doctrine" era include some locals such as the host who preceded Rush on KFBK in Sacramento. He was very confrontational and angered the liberals. He got run off the air for saying "Chinaman" on the air. A minor thing but some hyphenated "Americans" feigned umbrage and the local "newspaper" went nuts. The liberals and mainstream political hacks had their "issue."
Savage has talked about his past as a liberal including knowing Timothy Leary. Savage grew to hate Ginsberg because he blames him for ruining the life of Jack Kerouac (1922-1969) among other reasons just as vile.
No Goldwater. Yes, Morton Downey Jr. is another one chased off (I know about the SF airport incident, so what) and Savage is abrasive like Downey and Pyne, mostly Pyne.
Yes, his comments on the Reagan funeral were way too much. He just wouldn't stop, had there been something else on I would have skipped that day's Savage.
Savage "mocked Margaret Thatcher's way of speaking (never mind that she's had several strokes)" -- it had nothing to do with her illness. It was the irritation of hearing that "upper class" accent from years past. I know what he means.
"inflated opinion of himself"
I overlook his peccadilloes for the eighty percent good, IMO.
You lost me there. Downey was not somebody the conservative movement needed to embrace. And it figures you like Savage so much if you think Downey got a raw deal.
I stand by my prediction that he will go against Bush. Feel free to bookmark this thread and chastise me if he doesn't turn against Bush before the election.
As for the Reagan funeral, early during that week he stated how amazing it was that America was coming together for Reagan. Only later did he tire of the coverage and want to move on.
Too bad for him. Didn't he bother to look at the schedule of the ceremonies and see that it was going on all week? I'm sorry, but I don't expect Republicans to complain about TV coverage of one of our greatest presidents. His complaint is right out of the libs' playbook.
How exactly is this 'going off the deep end'? Granted I am not living in the United States and this time and have not heard the broadcast, but I really don't see how such a statement can be considered so taboo and/or extreme.
You realize do you not, that muslim extremists are desperately trying to get their hands on a nuclear device? What happens when they get one? Do you honestly think they will be wringing their hands at the prospect of using it?
How will you feel when New York, Washington, Tel Aviv or London goes up in mushroom cloud?
savage is bad, because he doesn't hate any american. he like the blacks, the whites and the hispanics, because the all share the american way.
savage is bad because he wants to help all americans, the rich and the poor and those who vote for different parties, because these people are americans like him regardless of their political views.
he is hated by foreigners because he loves all americans and hates all of it's enemies like the muslims.
Savage is hated by foreigners, because he doesnt hate americans of any shade or color.
This robs foreigners of the ability to manipulate american politics by pitting americans against each other.
Savage is hated by foreigners because he doesn't buy their lies. He knows that countries with an illiteracy of 60%, with a human resource rated at the 144th spot in th world, and with no technological or industrila base at all, can't really conribute to us in terms of technology.
he also knows that countries rated by international agencies as the second most corrupt countries in the world can't contribute much to us in terms of ethics either.
If these people were so talented and so high on ethics, their own countries would have been under record foreign debts, rife with corruption and inefficiency and devoid of both an educational and an industrial base.
These muslim immigrants call us racist, but i have never found anyone more racist than the non latino, non african, non white immigrants.
These foreigners come from the most corrupt, inefficient and least educated countries and they bring all those vices with them to the US.
Most of them have an islamic heritage which makes them hate most americans, simply because most of these americans are not muslims.
They would not let anyone say a word about islam. they would call all others racist, but they'd resort to the worst racism themselves.
when they meet an american they will always preach hate to him. They will preach hate against blacks to white people. hate against white people to black people
They don't have a thing they can pride themselvs in, apart from crooks, lies and the hate they so generously spread.
They then look down on white people who they refer to as white trash. They then look down on black people who they refer to as ghetto folk. They would call hispanics, dirty and filthy and yet they would have the nerve to call us racist?.
That's not what I meant. If they attack us, then we should drop the bomb on them. They'll never shoot back. You really really need to have heard him that day though. Not that I can blame him, but it sounded as if he missed his meds.
I wouldn't be surprised if he suggested a third-party candidate, suggested that voters stay home or suggested that Bush needs to lose so that the Republican Party can return to conservative principles. He wouldn't be the first "conservative" to suggest to voters one of these three options. And there's more than a few people on this board who would blindly follow what Savage told them to do!
I can't believe it either, I'll like to get the "WHOLE" story before I make a comment.
The mainstream media is notorious for getting it half right about half the time.
But has Bush turned on America?
Almost every time I think Bush has completely gone soft in the head, we find out the whole story and most of the time, he's made a good decision when presented with all the facts.
Hopefully, this is the case here, if not, it's a bad decision, even if that is the case, Kerry is not Bush
If Kerry gets elected, we will have a major terrorist attack on US soil within 30 days to test President-elect Kerry resolve. God help us. Mark my words.
Savage wants tougher action out of the Republicans. It's not happening, it seems. So he asks, what's the use. They're all Demicans.
Citing the Kosovo, etc. military actions he suggested that "the media would be complacent with a democrat" administration and Iraq. Compared to the mainstream media employees' "reporting" from Iraq there was never, never any "bad news" from Serbia.
So Savage mused, what if Kerry becomes president and pursues a winning policy including destroying Fallujah? Fat chance, IMO. Of course he would never vote for a Kerry but he did vote for Perot in 1992, I believe.
The UN thing was outrageous but reports suggest that the President had no choice. The member votes were not there.
Savage saw it as a betrayal of the U.S. military. IMO the betrayal if any shifts to sending or not sending U.S. troops to serve the corrupt UN. Though we have agreements with 90 countries that they will never bring charges against U.S. troops, I believe.
Yes, as of today Savage said he is likely to sit out this election.
The sickening, disgusting thought of having another 1960s traitor as president (Kerry is a documented traitor, BJ was too slick) will force me to vote for President Bush if there is any doubt about the outcome.
Regardless I will be voting for my Republican Congressman and for state and local Republicans who oppose ILLEGAL immigration and who respect our sovereignty and our heritage as a Nation of laws not men. Tell the corrupt government of Mexico to stay out of our internal affairs.
Savage wants tougher action out of the Republicans. So do I. That's all it's about.
