Let's say this person hurt my cat...hurt it the point that it will never be same. So I sue this guy. NOW...do I take the settlement money and run..enabling and almost giving permission for this moron to hurt other cats?...or do I want to do all I could do to stop this guy from ever hurting another cat...thereby going to court. Well..seeing how I would never be able to live with myself if this guy DID hurt another cat.... and knowing I would be the enabler...and knowing I could have probably stopped him...I would never think about settling. Because I love all cats.

Consider that your cat would not have to testify in open court in front of his abuser.

It would be rationalizing, but understandable, for the dad to say, better to make Jackson pay this way and make sure my kid is going to have a secure future, than to make him go through a court proceeding that will tear him to pieces and doesn't guarantee any kind of compensation. Plus, I've put the world on notice what Jackson did to my kid. They can consider themselves warned. And if the monster does it again, or has done it in the past, others can come forward and they will be believed.

Kids with families and a crummy parent or parents are the ones most vulnerable to this kind of abuse, by the way. They make easy targets because they need the love and comforts offered...

If you SUED the person then you'd be going after money. All winning a suit does is stack up legal fees, if the person offers to settle out of court from your side it's just money. NOw pressing criminal charges is another matter.

Jacko's a sick pervert, just watch him, see the interviews, look at the behavior. No way that twisted puke isn't buggering the little boys he said he "loves sleeping with". Those are his own words.
