Chinese state media outlets have urged people who weigh less than 110lb to stay indoors as the country braces for extreme winds this weekend.

Typhoon-like gales are expected to sweep through northern China from Friday to Sunday, with Beijing postponing major sporting events, closing parks, suspending dozens of train services.

The region's 22 million residents have been warned against non-essential travel, while those weighing less than 110lbs have been told they could be 'easily blown away'.

Yup. With about 10 minutes to go in every nature documentary, it always switches to climate change or sea level rise that puts the beautiful nature just documented at risk

They are required to say it. It is literally an order from the publisher to insert language like that in any weather story. It’s absurd but the boss demands it.

We think of the word Kamikaze from WW2 but the term means “divine winds” and refers to strong winds that saved Japan by destroying Kublai Khan’s fleet and army back in the 13th century and saved fuedal imperial Japan from invasion 800 years ago! I wonder what made it the weather so bad back then?
