The billionaire creator of Rockstar Energy has listed for sale a property in Utah for $50 million - less than a year after he officially acquired it for $39.4 million.
Russ Weiner, 53, founded the drinks company in 2001 but sold it to Pepsi in 2020 for a deal worth more than $4 billion, according to Forbes.
This luxurious six-bedroom, 11-bathroom ski house may have been an impulse purchase, however, as Weiner says he hasn't slept a single night there and reportedly said the stunning property was 'better than new'.
The 17,500 square-foot house sits on on five acres of land at the base of Monitor Bowl on Park City mountain resort, just east of Salt Lake City. It has become the most expensive residential property in Utah.
The property was built by the development company Illuminus Group.
The house is also architecturally ambitious and uses premium building materials, including Italian steel windows, Croatian limestone, shou sugi ban charred cypress and a fully copper roof. Its library has walls which are paneled with goatskin parchment, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Although the house was sold to him fully furnished it didn't stop Weiner from making improvements.
Since it was officially under his name in April 2022, Weiner said he did additional work, including installing a generator and updating the home's smart systems, according to Mission Global.
He also upgraded some of the furniture and added window coverings, window tints and solar shades. In the bedrooms, he upgraded the mattresses and bedding, he said.
Weiner said his plan was originally to keep the property but that 'plans changed'. He did not want to elaborate on the reasons why.

The place comes with quite a few impressive amenities. But there is no mention of an old-time pinball machine. Sorry, but I like old-time pinball machines.
So I think Iām going to have to pass on this one.
I did a pat down of my pockets.
Empty as usual.
I can see why he wants to sell the house; the stoves are either propane or natural gas.
As long as you have a good sales team you can make money. Sugar water and more sugar and caffeine. Amazing how many people buy that poison,
(bowling š³ alley?)
Count me in. Just what I need.
š³š³š³š³š³š³š³š³š³š³
A bowling alley is a much better chouce than the candy room the creator of Minecraft put in his room.
Personally, if it can be done, I’d prefer a 3D hologram room to put myself in the middle of a game.
The lack of solar panels might be a factor as well.
Yeah, but can you get a great burger, fries and shake at the bowling alley? Is there a well stocked bar with your favorite brew on tap?
Sports court? A combination basketball, volleyball and whatever else? Does it have a cool scoreboard? A vending machine to serve your favorite adult beverages at the perfect temperature?
And the kitchen (s)?
A garage?
Too many unanswered questions, I’ll pass.
I’ll have to install a bowling alley burger grill!
I saw a house on the internet whereva guy installed a few hundreds yards of pipe in a basement wall. He uses it to practice shooting. I thought it was interesting.
I personally don’t like mansion sized houses, but I would like a house where every room has been outfitted to be an amenity room of some kind.
money is wasted on the rich.....
Michael Savage’s son.
ššš
Yeah that’s cool!
Rockstar Energy founder... ‘It’s never been slept in’.
The headline writer deserves a raise.
Remember Jolt Cola back in the 90s? "All the sugar and twice the caffeine" was their marketing slogan.
If only they had made it taste like Mt. Dew.
Wow
