Next November is shaping up to repeat the 1994 midterms for the same underlying reasons, not the specific causes.

After two years of constant crisis and distrust of the Democrat in the White House, the Democrats need a distraction and victory. Gun owners are one of their core opposition demographics and seen as easy group to attack, despite the contradiction this presents since when provoked, gun owners WILL vote for their interests. Instead of actually dealing with economic or social problems the Democrats did more to create than Republicans, they go for a public relations victory while the news demands we go along and like it.
