“There is a very natural response to anyone a man finds trespassing on his land.”

Hopefully the man’s understanding of “trespassing” isn’t too strict because if safe passage fleeing from imminent death lies across his land many people won’t care who owns the land and the land might soon belong to his heirs.

As I understand, simple trespassing does not give you the ‘right’ to shoot.

Of course, if someone is fleeing from danger, they should be treated charitably.

If, however, they are simply trespassing to trespass, or to steal, or to cause harm or otherwise impose on persons and property, the natural response is to unambiguously insist that they leave without delay and not return.
