Thursday, Feb. 9, 8pm - Friday, Feb. 10, 12am | El Rio
From the organizer
Look, things are rough right now. We're organizing, resisting, fighting back. But we also need to take some time to have a little fun, right?
Well, enjoy a little r&r while also enjoying some revolution with this radical bake sale and antifasc fashion show presented by local gender queer feminist art collective The Degenderettes!
Door: $5-20 sliding scale, all $ goes towards #TheResistance, NOTAFLOF (and paying that bit more makes it easier for us to support this for others, so thank you in advance! ♥)
This is a fundraiser for a few different groups:
Bake Sale: raising money to help the marginalized! There will be many treats (including gluten free and vegan options). We'll be donating proceeds from this bake sale to the International Refugee Assistance Project as a way to deliciously resist the #muslimban.
Fashion Show: the best styles to march down the streets protesting in! Your donation to the event will half go towards Trans Lifeline, offering support by trans folks to trans folks, and half towards the Degenderettes pantry of protest snacks and medic supplies. You might even see us on the streets in our fashionable threads!
Music: bands tba! Keep an eye on our FB event page!
NOTE: Please arrive as scent free as possible - some of us have chemical sensitivities and we want to be open to all.
Will the Rioteers be playing?
These mothers is crazy. They all smell bad.
Fixed that.
I got a FB request asking for photos from the women’s march. They plan to create a book and sell it for the resistance. Pile it on fools.
“Black Bloc” = Left Wing Democrats who voted for Hillary. Just say it.
DOWN WITH THE FASCISTS!!
POWER TO THE LOCAL GENDER QUEER FEMINISTS!!
Getting harder and harder to tell satire from true news these days.
There IS a way to stop this.
Think Kent State.
Sorry, no matter how good, bad or indifferent it was, the BS basically ground to a halt.
If a Chief of Police or Mayor tells ‘me’ to go to a demonstration, leave my ammo behind and use rubber bullets or turn off my camera (WHICH you demanded I wear so as BOTH sides of a bad story can be shown,) I will realize I am in the wrong line of work or at least working for the wrong people.
If a group says one of their goals is to burn and sack Police cars, there is absolutely NO room for doubt.
At the very least these demonstrations need to be handled with high pressure water hoses and if they decide to block traffic, especially on an Interstate, they have to be moved.
This can be traced back to the bicycle crowd that demanded and virtually got equal rights when it came to highways -well at least city streets even though the gas/diesel buying public pay for the construction and upkeep of these highways and streets through taxes and license plate, drivers license fees etc...
The Clinton cash drying up will kill it dead. But the more they piss off normal Americans, the harder time zero will have fundraising for his OFA, and the Left will be written off as a no-go investment within months.
If we put up good enough candidates to kill their senators in ‘18 right now, the cash flow will dry up completely.
Money is the mothers’ milk for Leftist politics, far more so than the right. Risk jail when your cause might not be able to fend a lawyer to get you out of it? Maybe not.
These photos indicate that the anti-terrorist forces should automatically take out anyone showing up at a “protest” wearing black and hiding their faces. After their arrest, if they are found to be wearing protective gear and carrying potential weapons (like the hammers and heavy sticks seen in some of the photos) the charge of conspiracy should be added to riot and vandalism.
This is no demonstration or protest. It is civil insurrection and terrorism.
Criminals!
