Reading comprehension BlueDragon. Please go back and reread/rethink my commentary.
There's nothing the matter with my reading comprehension.
Like I said, I may be a lot of things, but I'm not stupid.
I do however, disagree with much of what you say -- taking exception for you say it also.
You may not have intended to imply what otherwise, going along with the general gist rest of your comments -- you seemingly did.
But it's my strength of reading comprehension which brings me to saying what I have, to you.

Ever hear the one about why many women from India have that red dot on their forehead?
[answer given while forcefully jabbing index finger forward in the air (at forehead level) as if punctuating each word]
Because_they_just_don't_know_when_to_shut_up!
::sighs:: More disrespect of women, this time of Indian women.
And it's nice you are coming to the aid of boatbums, but she can dish it out too. Yowza! :)

And, for the sake of information, men who deeply love [and respect] Mary, Christ's Mother, are usually more respectful toward women in general. Pay attention to the boards and see for yourself. Say what? I think Mary, the mother of Jesus was just another sinner, saved exactly the same way the rest of us are. She and Joseph had a normal marriage, with a bunch of other kids. I respect her for that, but, for the sake of argument, let me ask the others. RN, BB, CAWW, Mamab and MM, how much respect and admiration do I and the other Christian men give you?

[And did you see the video of the mama who laid her son out in Baltimore? He does not battle back even though he's getting a pretty good scolding in front of his friends and the whole nation. Lots of hope and love on that very short video, imo.] I LOVE that woman!
There IS hope for the Black Community!

However, its Catholics, themselves, who are the best at poking fun of certain aspects of their faith, but they want the information in that regard to be truthful, not inaccurate or a display of hate.
Jesus was walking along one day, when He came upon a group of people surrounding a lady of ill repute. It was obvious that the crowd was preparing to stone her, so Jesus made His now-famous statement, "Let the person who has no sin cast the first stone."
The crowd was shamed and one by one began to turn away. All of a sudden, a lovely little woman made her way through the crowd. Finally getting to the front, she tossed a pebble towards the woman.
Jesus looks over and says, "I really hate it when you do that, Mom."

THat part was a joke.
Try the reading comprehension thingy you were hinting that I am lacking ability for, for the rest of what I just said to you.
I like boatbums; why would I call her derogatory names?
Well, you didn't come right out and "call her names".
I didn't say that you had.
Yet you have on this thread hinted around at all sorts of insinuations regarding others, along with outright accusation that women and Catholics, and Catholic women in particular are being inappropriately mistreated, doing so while pulling out the [silly & ridiculous] "if they loved Jesus and his mother" card -- like that's supposed to make anyone's comments made on this forum immune from challenge?
And it's nice you are coming to the aid of boatbums, but she can dish it out too. Yowza! :)
As can many FRomans, including the screeching female versions (although not all are screechers, and not all whom are screech do so all the time).

Sinless Mary??
Luke 2:22-24
When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: a pair of doves or two young pigeons.
Leviticus 12:7-8
Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.
'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"

Scene: New York City, man is going to jump off the building. Up rushes good Irish cop.
Cop yells up to the man “Don’t jump! Think of your father”
Man replies “Haven’t got a father; I’m going to jump.”
The copy goes through a list of relatives, mother, brothers, sister, etc. Each time man says “haven’t got one; going to jump.”
Desperate the cop yells up “Don’t jump! Think of the Blessed Virgin”
Man replies “Who is that?”
Cop yells “Jump, Protestant! You’re blocking traffic!”

I like boatbums; why would I call her derogatory names?Because some couldn't see the forest for the trees! They are so busy dealing with their "feelings" that they have apparently disengaged the brain.
It isn't moderation you have asked for, it is censure! That is a typical trait of Roman Catholic cultists!

It may not be the primary reason that FR donations are down, but I know its the number one reason I no longer donate and I know that is also the case for not a small number of others. FR has bills to pay and if the behavior of some in the RF is causing difficulties, you gotta figure out how to fix the problem. Denying its existence or blaming it on the Catholics just doesnt cut it. It just lets it fester and it will grow.
Sorry you feel that way. I do feel charitable and would like to make a donation in your name.
