Nice post, G2G. I liked your previous post as well, where you were discussing your neighborhood. We have a string of stores like that by our house currently. They’re in a worn down strip mall, and the shop owners and their customers will come out and talk on the sidewalk. It’s really cool. Like a blast from the past.

Thank you! That was the best time of my life. My Mom was a cancer survivor, and two of my aunts would come each day to help out. They used to sing in the choir together and we’d get to hear the hymns they practiced the night before. I was blessed too, being able to spend more time with my Dad than most kids got. We even used to get invites to the block parties from the people across the alley! One big family. God, what a blessing!

Jesus didn’t whine about being treated unfairly or call others *haters* or *bigots* because they disagreed with His beliefs and ask someone to make a rule to keep them from speaking up.

Seems like the thin skinned have forgotten this.....

Matthew 5:38-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

But no, what we see is calls for censorship to shut down debate that someone doesn't like because they're offended.

And for some people that is the constant state of their souls. If one doesn't agree with them 100% on everything, they get offended and demand that the debate be shut down.

They take opinion and observation about the Catholic church personally and I have seen them admit that.

Seems like their biggest issue is that they can't control the actions and behavior of others and are trying to do it by making the RM do it for them.

It is NOT an attack on a Freeper (i.e., making it personal) but the poster's own beliefs about something.

When those "beliefs" are erroneous, they need to be addressed. Correcting the sinner is not “Being judgmental.” It is an essential work of charity. And when that individual, after being corrected, continues to post the same falsehoods, then these must be considered an attack.

Congratulations - I think you're beginning to understand WVKayaker's point-of-view! Your Catholic beliefs are erroneous and needed to be addressed. WVKayaker's correcting you is not "Being judgmental” but rather he is performing an essential work of charity. He sees you persisting in your erroneous Catholicism after being corrected, and sees that you've continued to post the same falsehoods about Protestants. Therefore, your future posts "must be considered an attack", right?

>>Seems like their biggest issue is that they can't control the actions<<

That control thing seems to be a Catholic idea the permeates from the head down. That whole "must submit will and intellect" thing.

>>but it's always the same old thing.<<

Staying with what scripture says does give consistency doesn't it.

Controlling, demanding speech patterns in some’s posts are too strident to be dismissed because of their enduring loyalty to the RCC.

Something else is going on with some of these lying defenders of their church...and some defenders are indeed spontaneous liars, provably so.

This year and last, there is a re-invigorated spiritual alignment against any FR poster who wishes to post for his/her belief in Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone as the Only Way for repentant sinners to be reconciled with Almighty God.

I just read again the original poster’s comments, who admits to NOT being a Christian, and then a few of the replies including bb’s. Most FR RF personal attacks seem to be coming from the accusers of the Brethren and in defense of the RCC against the Word of God.

The desperation from those who wish to take the focus off Christ and place it on other entities whether human or organization will intensify. Satan is ramping up as his time is getting short. Watch also for increased calls to “all get along” in the one world religion.

Why do people keep bringing that up? Just what can ordinary people do that we are not already doing? I have learned a lot on the religion
forum. Since I grew up in a very small town, there were only 3 Catholic families. If there were more, I did not know about them. There were a grand total of 49 people in my graduating class back in the goid ole days. So, I have learned a lot about their beliefs. Not all of it good. If people do not like it, then stay away. I have no interest in some threads so I just pass them by. We are all adults.

Come back to the future!

By prayer, Bear, not for sale! Also by good works. And when you see God, you'll be grateful for all the Catholics who prayed for your loved ones' souls, that their time, and yours in Purgatory may be mitigated.

There is not such thing as purgatory. Waste you prayers on fabricated nonsense and it will result in nothing.

We'll be everlastingly grateful to the Father Himself for giving us His Son and sending the Holy Spirit to lead us until His work on planet Earth is done.

Any prayers not offered in the name of the Son of God only are not beneficial to those you pray for. The Father loves the Son that much, and us as well because we born-of-the-Spirit believers in Lord Jesus Christ have been sealed with Christ...in Christ, the Only Rock of our salvation.
