I think I will continue to read the words that the founders of the Confederacy actually wrote in the time os secession as opposed to what the Confederate Revisionists have to say about the issues of slavery in the 21st century.

And the fact is that the Declarations of Secession of those four states mention “Slavery” 82 times and mention States’ Rights ZERO Times!

If you did read the founders words, you might be surprised. Stephens and Davis were not fire-eaters. Catton does a decent summary of the formation of the CSA gov't and ironically William C Davis, hardly a CSA apologist, adds work specifically to the legislative branch of the CSA. Mostly absent or uncooperative.

Painting the CSA states as "united" and all Southerners subscribing to the tenants of the Articles of Secession is not a platform to build your argument from - there are so many more sources, correspondence, records, etc should you choose to investigate. Good luck.
