If I’m not mistaken the Melrose Plantation (I gathered that from the filename) was the product of manumitted slaves who eventually became one of the largest black slave-holders in Louisiana.

It was an invasion to plunder and exterminate...this is the problem we have..all our ancestors wanted was independence..slavery would have ended without the perpetrate slaughter of women, children and the elderly.
