Why is it you posted an article entitled “Why the War was not about Slavery” when my argument was that the reason for secession was slavery?

Did you read the essay? Obviously not and I can tell you why: your liberal indoctrination is so complete that you're terrified to entertain information opposing your deeply held prejudices.

BTW, secession is discussed in the essay. If you had read it you would know that. Those 2 degrees from that liberal college have really screwed you up. BA's, no doubt......

I do not have to read what historians of the 21st century write about the 19th century. Instead, I read the actual documents that were written during historical events.

Therefore, when I read the Declaration of Independence, I can understand why our founding fathers declared independence.

And when I read the Declaration of Secession by the states of South Carolina, Texas, Georgia and Mississippi, I can see exactly why they opted for such action.

These states told us that the reason for leaving the Union was because they desired to keep human beings in slavery.

Interestingly, on this thread, I have not seen a post where the supporters of the Confederacy have disavowed these Declarations of Succession.
