The Rs in Congress abandoned their base -- the CwA conservatives. We screamed for fiscal, legal, border reform.

They pandered to the Socials. "Defense of Marriage" act?

And they lost their majority.

The part of the base that won't vote for anyone that doesn't think like they do can't be appeased. If we nominate a guy who did a good job in the past, promises not to grab guns, and is strong on defense -- you won't vote for him unless he thinks like you. Against Gays, is pro-life, etc.

Good luck with that.

You contradict yourself. First you say that it was the CwA Republicans that stayed home in 2006. Then you blame the social conservative Republicans for possibly staying home in 2008. Make up your mind.
