Since his opposition to Hillary's carpet-bagging was a defense of our Constitution and Conservatism...yeah, it's pretty important. It raises the question of his integrity, and whether he'll actually vote as a conservative while in office.
Ambassador Keyes is a forward-thinking conservative on the order of Walter Williams. He is not a carpetbagger in the same sense as Piaps. Amb. Keyes was invited by the Illinois Republican party to be the candidate.
