where did I say "exempt"Rev if you have a niece or a cousin that has been led to a false god,...and then you say that you believe it is a scriptural salvation that is exempting her from the biblical mandate to know the true gospel .(which I believe was the subject here)
Did you ever sing the song to your kids when they were babies.."Jesus loves me this I know"? We have a mandate to teach Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to make it live in their heart, even to the babes in our arms .

Let me be very clear...I DO NOT account to you or anyone else on the thread. I DO NOT and WILL NOT be accountable to the attitudes I see here. One thing is certain, we will give an account to God. My conscience is clear, and I do not need to defend myself against what I consider to be aberrant heresy.

I've never heard an invocation at at Cub's game, or any baseball game for that matter.
The national anthem is NOT a prayer to God.
Any more strawmen you wish to erect?
Your last statement deserves no response besides this one.

You cannot imagine the arguments I had when I was on your side of this disagreement. I railed, argued, criticized, rebuked, scorned and dismissed the Calvinist perspective -- until one day when I dropped to my knees in blessed relief, finally spent of my error and filled with the knowledge that... I think you probably need to spend a little more time in prayer to deal with an attitude. I need no defense...my best defense is to let you people rant and rave...

***Yes, we understand no one gets saved in a Calvinist Church.***
I know this is a foreign concept to Arminians, whose only mission field most have ever seen was at the altar of their own church during the singing of 30 verses of "Just as I am" with the pastor anxiously hoping someone will come and get saved, but Calvinists regard the mission field as being outside the church. Perhaps I should be more open minded about this and regard Arminian churches as mission fields too. Given what is being taught here by some, I probably wouldn't be wrong.

We labor together with the help of God toward the salvation, health, and peace of all people. In respectful conversations and in practical cooperation, we confess our Christian faith and strive to display the manner in which Jesus Christ is the life and hope of the world.
This is a missions statement.
Therefore, I agree that the Methodist church is not synchretistic with other religions. CaRep is correct.
As a missions statement, it is saying that one cannot enter a missions field with foreign religions and treat the people like dirt and expect them to respond to Christ. I agree with that.
As a Christian in a buddhist culture, I could both treat the people with respect and dignity AND believe them to be lost and their religion to be wrong.

Would you walk out of a memorial service if you heard a muslim giving a general prayer?

I know this is a foreign concept to Arminians, whose only mission field most have ever seen was at the altar of their own church... Tell that to the Salvation Army (and a host of others I don't have time to list)
Maybe later. I gotta go.

Would I allow a buddhist or JW lead a public prayer at an ecumenical worship service?
If I were in charge, no.
If you weren't in charge at a prayer breakfast, and when you arrived they had a Rabbi stand up to pray, would you leave?
What if someone you didn't know and they didn't identify stood up to pray. Would you leave?
