What makes you say that is His number one trait?
There is a verse that says God is love but not one that says God is holiness.

There is a verse that says God is love but not one that says God is holiness. Depends on whether you're reading it as a verb or a noun.
Leviticus 11:44, cited in 1 Peter 1:16:
"You shall be holy, for I am holy"

Thanks for the ping, RnMomof7.
Add me to the list.
Salvation by grace, through faith is not of ourselves in the sense of being the result of our own power. We are bound to view salvation as being as surely a divine act as creation, or providence, or resurrection. At every point of the process of salvation this word is appropriate--"not of yourselves." From the first desire after it to the full reception of it by faith, it is evermore of the Lord alone, and not of ourselves. The man believes, but that belief is only one result among many of the implantation of divine life within the man's soul by God Himself.
C.H. Spurgeon, sermon "All of Grace", Oct. 7, 1915

Isaiah 6:5 - Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

If God was able to subdue your will and win your heart, and that without interfering with your moral responsibility, then is He not able to do the same for others? Assuredly He is. Then how inconsistent, how illogical, how foolish of you, in seeking to account for the present course of the wicked and their ultimate fate, to argue that God is unable to save them, that they will not let Him. Dear Mr. Thread Pope,
It appears to me that we should have some sort of disciplinarian. For the Ministry of Discipline, I would nominate either Jean Chavin or Gamecock.

A very good suggestion, however it is not
"Mr. Thread Pope" to you ...
"Your Fishiness" is the proper title of respect.
I will solicit suggestions from those on our list as to your proper pennance. The best suggestion, as infallibly determined by myself, will be accepted and given to you.
The one suggesting the pennace becomes my disciplinarian.

How does the Bible put emphasis on a concept or thought? By repeating the concept three times.
Where is love repeated three times in one phrase? It isn't. As a matter of fact none of God's attributes are described in this manner.
So, which attribute is repeated three times? Holy:
Isaiah 6:3 And one called to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!
Revelation 4:8 And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!
That's why I say Holiness is God's number one attribute.

There is a verse that says God is love, but not one that says God is holiness. Isa 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
When one would repeat a word such as "Verily, Verily" it was meant to express great emphasis and importance by the speaker and the certainty that it affirms. So when the angels say "Holy, Holy, Holy" it describes God's Primary attribute of holiness.

Thanks for the correction re SL Johnson. His 63 tape set on Systematic Theology is excellent!
BTW, SL Johnson spoke at my graduation at Westminster Seminary (1988).

Your Fishiness:
My humble offering thanks to Benjamin Warfield:
"Calvinism is not a specific variety of theistic thought, religious experience, [or] evangelical faith; but just the perfect manifestation of these things. The difference between it and other forms of theism, religion, [and] evangelicalism is difference not of kind but of degree ... it does not take its position then by the side of other types of things; it takes its place over all else that claims to be these things, as embodying all that they ought to be."
Upon the 400'th Anniversary of John Calvin's birth.
