DNC HAS TEN THOUSAND LAWYERS POSITIONED TO STEAL FLORIDA FROM GWB (here's what you can do)
10/23/04

Posted on 10/23/2004 12:18:41 PM PDT by Liz

The DNC has stationed ten thousand lawyers in Fla and has directed them to charge voter intimidation ......even if none exists.

John Kerry has said he is going to proclaim victory Nov 2, and name his Cabinet, no matter what the vote totals show.

Unless, of course, an historic blowout for GWB stops him.

Now here's what we can do.

DO THIS NOW. EMAIL THE ABA ethicsearch@abanet.org

Re: Lawyers making false charges.

The Democratic National Committee has instructed their lawyers to charge voter intimidation, even where none exists. This directive, if carried out, violates the American Bar Association's Rules of Professional Legal Conduct in almost every single state.

The penalty is a disciplinary proceeding and potential disbarment. Lawyers may be zealous partisans, but no lawyer wants to risk losing his or her law license -- for almost any cause.

The ABA should issue a directive regarding the penalties involved for lawyers using their professional status to make unsubstantiated charges.

EXCERPT The Herald Tribune headlines that "Thousands in Florida may be Registered to Vote Elsewhere," and that "Tens of thousands of Florida voters may be illegally registered to vote in two states, and more than 1,600 may have cast ballots in Florida and one of two other states in recent elections, a newspaper reported Friday. Elections officials said they have few ways to prevent someone from registering in two states at once, and a lack of safeguards makes it easy for people to vote illegally, the Orlando Sentinel reported in a story for Friday's editions. The Orlando Sentinel examination of voting records from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina found more than 68,000 cases in which voters with the same names and dates of birth were registered in two states. In 1,650 cases, records indicate those voters cast ballots in Florida and another state in the 2000 or 2002 elections. Jenny Nash, a spokeswoman for Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood, said state election officials have no idea how many Florida voters are registered to vote in a second state, let alone casting two ballots. But the potential for thousands of illegal votes raise alarms in a state that decided the last presidential election by just 537 votes for George W. Bush. t is a felony for voters to cast ballots in two states in the same election. But election officials seldom check whether voters are registered in another state. There is no nationwide voting database, and only 15 states maintain a statewide voting register." http://www.HeraldTribune.com END EXCERPT

OTHER POINTS TO PONDER

Team Kerry had an Internet campaign dubbed "Operation Snowbird" that encouraged New Yorkers who reside part of the year in Florida to register there as well. It is a felony crime to be registered in two states. It is a felony crime to use the internet to aid and abet the commission of crimes.

Dual state registereds might also be committing crimes by evading the IRS if they failed to file state tax returns. The IRS would be interested in dual state residents not filing state tax returns. If a person is registered to vote in a state, that means that they are a resident of that state and as such, need to pay the state taxes of a resident, as necessitated by law.

Actually, what you need to do is find out each state (fed courts too) the lawyer is licensed in to file the ethics complaint. ABA has nothing to do with a lawyer being licensed.

As a long time voter(50 years) this stuff frightens me to death.

This is the ugliest election in my memory.

Republican Partty of Florida also has lawyers at every polling spot in the state (though probably not as organized and aggressive as the dems).

Amen to that! Filing ethical misconduct charges against these scumbags just may do the trick. In South Carolina the Judicial Review committee handles complaints against lawyers and has the authority to disbar them. We need to find out who to go to in each state in order to file these charges. In most places, unethical misconduct can have a lawyer disbarred for sometime (not 100% sure on this, remembering converstations judical members of my family held around me). Point is we need to start playing the game like the damRats do- it's the only way we can be assured of a win.

Following is what I sent -- will let you know if I get a response.

Carolyn

"It is my understanding that many of your members are poised to refute election results with little or no factual basis. Please make your members aware that they are facing charges of serious ethics violations if they do that. I would like your assurance that these violations will not happen."

I sent THIS....

Re: Lawyers making false charges.

If false charges are made of "voter intimidation" or any other charge which is false by an attorney, will YOU research the attorneys behind them and conduct a disciplinary proceeding?

I understand the Democratic National Committee has instructed their lawyers to charge voter intimidation, even where none exists. This directive, if carried out, violates the American Bar Association's Rules of Professional Legal Conduct in almost every single state.

The ABA should issue a directive regarding the penalties involved for lawyers using their professional status to make unsubstantiated charges.

How's this? Unless you have been living in a cave in Tibet or some other "out-of-touch" location in the world, you have heard and/or seen the 67 page directive put out by the DNC directing their army of lawyers to subvert and make unsubstantiated claims in the upcoming election. As the head of this nations legal apparatus, I would expect you to act in a way respectful of your profession and issue a directive regarding the penalties involved for lawyers using their professional status to make unsubstantiated charges. This country has been through quite enough in the last 4 years, beginning with the Florida debacle in 2000. Please, I urge you to do what is in your power to prevent a replay of the last election. Require the members of your profession to act with integrity and ethics. I know, I know, "integrity and ethics" - a little over the top to expect, but.....

We need to do something now to get some attention to the problem. The ABA is the most convenient and has the clout to stir up a national commotion.

If we later determine the names of lawyers who may have conducted themselves unprofessionally, we will then aim at their licesnes.

I think the 10,000 figure is a national figure, not a FL figure.

I'm far less worried about FL than OH and PA.

I think the correct term is a "mendacity of lawyers."

If the Republican Party could disbar 10,000 lawyers in one fell swoop, they'd be sitting pretty for a generation as the electorate would celebrate by keeping them in office.
