Help debating DemocRats
Oct. 3, 2003

Posted on 10/03/2003 1:00:13 PM PDT by cyberjet31

I am part of this political club at my school. There are so many liberal students there it is hard to debate because they gang up on you. I know that it was the right thing to do by going into Iraq, but can anyone give me things I can say in a debate when I have to defend that? Same for the economy and the patriot act (they are having a field day with it).

Thanks so much freepers.

Type in "Iraq" in the FR search function, and read, read, read.

Find the Internet link for The Patriot Act, and read it. Ask your "friends" if they've done the same.

You'll have to be more specific and tell us what they;re exactly saying.

Same for the economy and the patriot act (they are having a field day with it).

They only repeat what the liberal media and/or the Democrat Party tells them and they're not very conscience of it (they like to think they're "independent thinkers", when in fact they're being led by the nose by the DNC propgandists, and dont even know it). Listen to them. Become very familiar with the liberals students arguments. You'll hear the same old cliches/arguments being repeated. Then come here, and do your research. For each one of their points, you'll find a dozen well thought out rebuttals around here on this site.

I just cant begin to tell you how much info this site has given me in order to succesfully smack down the liberals in debate. Never mind the numbers. I've been outnumbered by the liberals on message boards all over the internet, and I'd still win.

In the issue of WMD, the entire world accused Saddam for years. Numerous European countries, the UN, even Bill Clinton and his Democratic critters are documented as talking about the intel that Saddam had WMD's. The UN sanctioned him and passed resolution after resolution.

Ask your liberal competitors if FRance, Russia, Britain etc. as well as the UN and the Democratic Party (when they were in power) were wrong all those years.

Read books by Ann Coulter:

Treason, Slander

Also research websites like

http://www.newsmax.com is a good site.
As is http://judicialwatch.org

But, don't worry about convincing the liberals,
focus on spreading Truthful information to those
who are listening while you debate the brainwashed-ones.

Maybe your having such a hard time because in your mind you really do not agree with Chancellor Bush and his cronies policies. WMD's in Iraq. Have we found them? Where did they go? I see you are still in school so here's some advice- if you can't beat them, join 'em. It sounds like your overwelmed in your cause. The one thing that you have in your favor is that you will have some college in before you get serious about the job market. By then, Howard Dean and his administration would've had enough time to straighten out this dreadful economy and job market.

If you cant beat them, join them? Well, that’s the liberal/french way to deal with things...dean fix things? the "dean machine"?! HAHAHAHAHAHAH, oh yes- PLEASE put dean up against Bush, PLEASE! LOLOLOLOL!!!! Wait- did you come from DU? Lol! I read a great review about how all you guys @ DU are so sick in the head, and half of you say "bush knew". You guys are messed up and that is why you wackos on the FAR LEFT will never get in office! The majority of America is conservative/moderate- that is why clinton won because of his conservative ideas, such as welfare reform, but Dean?! give me a break. You are pathetic and so is Dean. You know, it is funny, because before the War in Iraq, I could not find a SINGLE DEMOCRAT that would say that Saddam did not have these weapons. In fact, most said they knew he had them, but just did not think the time was right to go after him. Don’t believe me? They said it themselves…

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-Connecticut:

"The war in Iraq is a task of high justice and necessity."

"There is not an inch of difference between me and the President over this war."

"It's time to come together and support our great American men and women in uniform and their Commander-In-Chief."

"It has been my view for 12 years that Saddam Hussein must be removed from power if we are to have a more peaceful world and more secure America."

Sen. John Edwards, D - North Carolina:

The U.S. should do "whatever it takes to disarm Saddam Hussein, including the use of military force."

"Make no mistake, Saddam Hussein alone has chosen war over peace. He has defied international law rather than disarm his weapons of mass destruction. Our world will be safer when he is gone."

Congressman Dick Gephardt, D - Missouri:

"The highest responsibility our government has is to keep our people safe. I wish that it didn't come to this. Nobody wishes for war. But, we must face the challenge of terrorism head on and I support our Commander in Chief and the American military at this critical time in that struggle."

(thanks to Students For War for the Quotes)

Leave it to a Bush communist to start crying and screaming. How's the ECONOMY? I suppose you're okay with status quo. Daddy Bush got his butt handed to him and so will jr. As far as being an American, if being an American means I have to support Bush than Germany is looking better by the minute. You'll have to excuse me, I have to go take a Bush and wipe my Reagan!

Really? Are you a moderate? I am sorry for calling you a hippie IF you are not one. I thought you were just someone from the DU comming over to start trouble. I just don't understand why, if you are a republican, you would ask why I would not join the democrats. I do not know what kind of republican would talk about the President as you have. I am having a very hard time buying what you are saying about you being a republican (unless you are a "RINO"). If the president did not think saddam was a threat, he would not have attacked him. What he decides is based on his morals. If our intel told the President that saddam either had or was trying to make those WMDs, what else is he supposted to base his Decision on? Saddam's word?

Can you honestly say that the world is not a safer place with saddam out of power?

Look, if we could resolve our Differences now, we can be a stronger voting force for the future.

My doubts regarding the war in Iraq and the admin's reasons for war fall with this: We have unarguably the best intellegence and military in the world. The UN sent in inspectors who were given the run around by Saddam's regime. Were they hiding something? Possibly, yes. But weapons of that magnitude do not just disappear! If there are WMD's and they were moved to say, Syria like some suggested, then why can't our government prove it. Again we HAVE the best intellegence and resources in the world. I am for ridding the world of dictating scum who threaten the way Americans live, But Bush got everyone caught up in the emotions of terrorism and told us he was taking Saddam out because of his support of terror and Al Qeda. Saddam is wiped out, and here we are faced with rebuilding Iraq. And we are doing it in our image. The middle easterners hate us because we impose our views and freedoms upon them. Some people in this world have no desire and cannot grasp nor deserve true freedom. Here's an idea. Since mideast terrorism against us is based on our support of Isreal, let's take the f-18's the apaches and the nukes that we gave them back, even the playing field and let them fight their own battles. They can go sling shot to sling shot and settle this thing. Keep us in cheap oil and those guys can kill each other til the end of time as far as I'm concerned.
On to Howard Dean. I don't agree withevery bit of his platform but if you look at it, it's fundamentally based on conservative values of old. Think about if Bush did a Clinton-like spin. Take you opponents ideas, sand the rough edges then pass them off as your own. Tell americans that he still believes in his tax cuts but rescind the cuts from the wealthiest 2% to support the rebuilding in Iraq ( 2010 tax cut for this class would do it alone-89 bil) and the cut for the wealthiest 2 % in '04 and '05 would pump over 110 bil into an economic job recovery plan. I'm sure you can agree that the highest 2 % can probably live just as well without the tax cut compared to middle class Americans.

"But Bush got everyone caught up in the emotions of terrorism and told us he was taking Saddam out because of his support of terror and Al Qeda"

Do you remeber the terrorist camps we found? Do you remember those airplane fuselages we found? Do you think they used them to train people to learn the best way to be a flight attendant?

You said we had the best intel in the world. Now, if the President also was under that impression, can't you see what he was probably thinking when he was told Iraq either had or was making those WMDs? He used them before, he would have used them again. Again, refer to my quotes from all those democrat leaders, no one had doubts about the WMDs. The trouble we are having finding them now is a shock to everyone. The liberals are only taking the question that everyone is wondering (where are the WMDs) and shouting them in anger, trying to gain support, but it is not helping them- notice how they backed off of that....

With Israel, they are our best ally in the whole middle east. If we took everything away, they would be gone in 24 hours!

Forget liberal or conservative the scope of the middle east problem goes way beyond that. As for Isreal being our biggest ally- what do they do for us? What does oh great Isreal bring to the table? There are numorous UN resolutions regarding Isreali occupations in the west bank,Jeruselem and more but big brother Uncle Sam choses to turn a blind eye to that. What about their most recent situation of sending f 18's into Syria and bombing them? If it were any other country, we and the rest of the world would be demanding answers and possibly taking action against a country that acts "hastily". I've read alot of different articles and opinions on our relationship with Isreal but yet to this day cannot justify our loyalty to them or even their existence. We argued with the UN for how long before Bush said F it and went it basically alone in Iraq. Now, Ireal can attack other nations without discussion. Do we protect them when Syria decides to stomp a mud hole in their butt. Interesting, isn't it?

"What about their most recent situation of sending f 18's into Syria and bombing them? "

At least I know where you have been for the past few years, la la land. Every day Israel faces terrorism. If any country was in that situation, you know darn well that we would not try to stop them. All they are doing is fighting back. When we were attacked, we fought back. They have a right to self defense just like we do.

Israel does not target preschools, stores, parks, MARKETS! They are fighting terrorism.

"Do we protect them when Syria decides to stomp a mud hole in their butt"
What are they going to do? They will probably try to send MORE terrorists, more than they are sending into Iraq. Israel has the ability to protect itself from a conventional war if Syria would launch one.
You also said "without discussion". What do you mean by that? It happened this morning and it is not even a work day! Funny that you will give Iraq 12+ years, but this only a few hours...

Check this out. The Jews get wrapped up in a war with Syria. We'll be the ones bailling them out. Uncle Sam to the rescue. By the way, are you registered for the selective service? If a draft situation arises are you willing to put your life on the line for W? Think about it.
If they are God's people then he will protect them. We cannot be the world's big brother. Hey man, defend their country (that they stole) More power to you but when the hammer falls are you willing to go in there and clean up another mess? Let's worry about bigger troubles like north korea. They have PROVEN nukes and will use them. Forget Isreal, the only thing our commitment to them has gotten us is thousands dead ON OUR SOIL! For what? What do they do for us? You and I can spout off at each other day and night but once America starts looking out for us and forget about the rest it will never change. So now do we keep spreading ourselves thin so we can't protect our true interests? Clinton tried downsizing our military and where are we now? Committed to Iraq with no clear cause from our admin and there's bigger problems on the horizon. Even your boy Cheney is back pedalling in the press. How long will this continue? Bush needs to worry about what's going on at home and screw the middle east. We have the backbone, why not say screw Isreal and the middle east. Give us cheap oil and we'll keep out of your business. Plain and simple. We don't need Isreal or Saudi or any of those blood sucking pigs. Have you ever considered Isolationism? Our founding fathers may have been on to something.

"We'll be the ones bailling them out. Uncle Sam to the rescue" As I said, they have won in wars before without US troops helping them out. Am i registered for the selective service? I am only 16, so I am not old enough. Would I put my life on the line for the President? If it were for the president, it would be for the United States, and you bet your butt that I would.

"defend their country (that they stole) " It was more like given to them, wasn't it?
The way you are talking like this would be if the US fought with them against Syria. If we fought them, it would probably be alone or with the Brits and Aussies, but I highly doubt that we would fight a war with the Isralies, because if we did, the repercussions from the whole arab world would be worse than ever before.

"Even your boy Cheney is back pedalling in the press." Even MY boy Cheney? I thought you were a Republican...hm...

"screw Isreal and the middle east. Give us cheap oil and we'll keep out of your business." Well, as simple as that sounds, that would not work. First off, to leave our ally in the dust is such a Rat, french like, thing to do. We are better than that. And 2nd off, if we just left the middle east now, with all that we are in the middle of, there would be more Instability than you could ever imagine! They would never trade with us, espcially with oil, and we would shut down as a nation.

Lastly, "Have you ever considered Isolationism? Our founding fathers may have been on to something"
Yeah..um..see, that isin't the greatest thing. To cut ourselves off from the world would get rid of any interests we have over seas and being so cut off from the rest of the world, we would probably start on a decline that we would never recover from. The only reason why we did that at first was because we were too weak to do anything else and could not risk getting involved in anything. Besides recovering from a war, we didn't even have the capability to do get involved if we wanted to. You think the economy is bad now? If we went isolationist and our interests went far, far away, just wait to see how the stock market reacts....

By the way, I consider national security a true interest. If the President thought that saddam was a threat to our national security do to intel. HE saw with his own two eyes (you know, the type that We can't see), I believe him. He is a man with strong faith and would not do something like this unless he saw it to be a threat to our freedom.

Hvae you ever talked to a soldier that has been to Iraq and gotten their view point on going there? I doubt it; every one that I've had some sort of discussion with (or heard their comments) agree with going to war with Iraq. And why do all you look at is 'we havne't found wmd's yet.' Do you bother looking at anything else besides that: 24 million people freed from tyranny, not forgetting to mention all of the other sanctions that Saddam had broken throughout the years. Oh and btw, Clinton seemed to have no problem finding wmd's (or traces of them) and blowing them to smitherines, nor did he have an y porblem with support through the whole thing either, couldn't be because he was Democrat could it? Good for you for voting in the last four elections, still doesn't mean you are right.
