Pro-America Rally to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Pro-America Rally Planned For Sunday UPDATED - Saturday March 01, 2003 4:21pm Tulsa - There have been plenty of anti-war protests around the world and this weekend, a rally supporting America and its troops is being planned.

The "Pro-America Rally" starts at one o'clock on Sunday at the Memorial High School stadium.

Keynote speakers will include Mayor Bill LaFortune, Senator Jim Inhofe and Major General Lee Baxter.

KFAQ radio disc jockey Michael DelGiorno made the suggestion on air and says there was an immediate outpouring of support.

"The minute brave men and women go in harms way on our behalf, that demands our support," said DelGiorno. "And so, it's not a pro-war rally, it's a pro-America rally."

At one point, there were questions about the amount of security for the event. It was feared the rally would be canceled, but organizers tell NewsChannel 8 there will be plenty of security.
