That's a sad story Westy. We had a homeless woman here who was camped right under the window of a City Councillors office. I found it one day when I went to feed my homeless cats at a building across the street. Once I discovered where she slept at night I took her a blanket and everyday at lunch I would take her a sandwich. She in turn would make sure no one hurt my little street cats. It's awful. I didn't make it known to the City Councillor because I knew that the fat cat would usher her out of her spot too. It is a scene going on all over north america. We need to be sensitive when we discover these situation and not be high and mighty about judging how they got there. It could happen to ANYBODY as you say!! Given the right set of circumstances converging all at once and whamo!

Now I read where Boeing is going to outsource some parts...More jobs down the drain for the locals..The chinese will probable gain jobs and Boeing will make a few more bucks profit....Ain't it a wonderful world....

Morning OC...I see your namesake is going to score a million bucks for shooting his mouth off on CBS...CBS, natch.
South America in general has been pretty neutral on the liberation of Iraq. Chile, who has a seat on the un security counsel, has not committed, but will do the cowardly thing and probably oppose action. There have been a few feeble protests in Santiago, but they only resulted in the Chilean police getting to use their spiffy new water cannon and overdue baths for the protesters.
South Americans are pretty apathetic about world events and Chileans only seem to get worked up over international events when their national soccer team plays Peru.

All those geese on that field reminds me of my football refin'days. Seemed like the geese were attracted to 100-yard open areas with white stripes.
And Valerie, your photo of the zebras also reminded me of the whistle and yellow flag days.

I work with a Colombian who speaks pretty good English and he asked me why the US was going to declare war on a poor country like Iraq that hadn't really done anything. I replied, "you come from a sh**-hole country where you can't even walk down a city street without being kidnapped or murdered and you want to question what the United States of America is doing"? The "discussion" ended at that point.
