"We have not been informed of the details of this proposal, but no Iraqi will accept the deployment of international forces," Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri told the Saudi-owned Al-Hayat newspaper.

"We don't doubt the desire of certain international parties to face up to the logic of war and aggression but we think that the presentation of such ideas in fact serves the (US) logic of war," he told the London-based daily.

Turkey has offered a safe haven to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein if he steps down to prevent a U.S.-led war, a Turkish newspaper said on Tuesday.

They are as usual, screwing the forecast up big time...last friday you know we were only expecting 1-3 inches and got a lot more...then yesterday, they shut everything down by noon...schools, colleges, town halls, etc..and lo and behold nothing significant happened till THIS morning, where everything from yesterday (a scant 2" IF THAT!!) froze solid and there were no sanders/plows out and of course at the last min when they discovered this they put schools on 2-hr delays.

Yeah, the blizzard of 78 wasn't predicted, either.

I had the radio on earlier and all the interstates around the city are in a mess, because there weren't trucks out plowing and salting ...our forecast was for snow flurries. LOL!

I was to meet Dad this afternoon at 3 at his skin cancer doctor...

..but he just called, and it's been moved to 11AM...(my uncle is taking him)--and I'll meet them there!!

..so I was just going out the door for CURVES...
..but will cancel that out...
..run to the post office & mail Texas son's Valentines brownies....
..then to church to pick up the new plates and doilies for the Saturday party....
..then to the doctor for Dad...
..then home to bake a cake for Bible Study tonight....and clean over the house :)

BTW, did you just see the Oscar nominations....BOO!

Only nomination Lord of the Rings..got, was for Best Picture, which it will lose to Chicago....which I saw, and even though it's rated PG13 (should have been R)...and even though it's total razzle dazzle glitter.....my friend, April and I, thought it was waaaaaaay over the top with innuendo & perversion of sorts.....

..a very empty movie and I left NOT CARING for a single soul in it.
...just smoke & mirrors......like Hollywood

They just can't bring themselves to honor a decent movie like Two Towers
