"We have not been informed of the details of this proposal, but no Iraqi will accept the deployment of international forces," Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri told the Saudi-owned Al-Hayat newspaper.

"We don't doubt the desire of certain international parties to face up to the logic of war and aggression but we think that the presentation of such ideas in fact serves the (US) logic of war," he told the London-based daily.

Turkey has offered a safe haven to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein if he steps down to prevent a U.S.-led war, a Turkish newspaper said on Tuesday.

Thanks for the nice comments. I wish I were home too, but I'm not, so I do the best I can. I was just asked again if I wanted to go to Bangalore to work for a few months this fall. My answer: NO! The HR lady was rather perplexed until I reminded her that we would probably be at war with Iraq. And then she finally realized why everyone has been saying NO! to going there to work...

HEAVY DUTY PRAYER REQUEST

As some of you know, we were in Minnesota this past weekend for my mother's 80th birthday celebration. At the party were a couple who are best friends of my sister & her husband; they are so close, they are like family.

Two days priors to the party the husband found out he has major heart trouble; is a likely candidate for a transplant; w/o one he has a 50% chance of surviving for 5 years. His wife has a connective tissue disease and I just found out from my sister that she is in the ICU after developing massive esophageal bleeding last night. She received at least 6 pints of blood before they were able to stabilize her.

She is unable to digest food and has been living on "Boost". Yet somehow she has managed to keep on working (she is a teacher); her husband lost his job a couple of years ago and has not had much success in his search for a new one.

They have two children, one in college and a recent college graduate.

Please, if you all have time in your busy schedules, say a little pray for Jeanne and Richard. They are lovely people, the nicest folks you'd ever want to meet; and as my sister put it, the burdens they carry are overwhelming.

Good lysie. Seems like all the major categories are covered. Family, friends, contact numbers, etc. And since we live in a hurricane zone, we have all of those provisions/logistics/commo, etc. down pretty good. Work/clients are going very well.

The weather is great. Sunny, slight breeze about 68 degrees.

FL is on a high end state of alert.
