AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 752) - [Remember the Trade Center, Pentagon, Flight 93!!]

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! President Bush.

Good morning ALL you wonderful people.

Minus 6 outside the lysie home with a couple inches of *S*.

"We have not been informed of the details of this proposal, but no Iraqi will accept the deployment of international forces," Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri told the Saudi-owned Al-Hayat newspaper.

"We don't doubt the desire of certain international parties to face up to the logic of war and aggression but we think that the presentation of such ideas in fact serves the (US) logic of war," he told the London-based daily.

Turkey has offered a safe haven to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein if he steps down to prevent a U.S.-led war, a Turkish newspaper said on Tuesday.

May God bless our troops, President Bush and his administration and may God continue to bless the United States of America!!

Prayers and leadership...

Guenevere, go take a nap!

Dog, I'm thinking this Powell statement about the Bin Laden tape is some kind of psy-ops.

To let them know what we know. Now the Al-J denies it, but who cares? Powell's message has been received. He, he....

The Hildabeast being on the Armed Services Committee gives me cold chills - as does the thought that Graham (FL) is contemplating running for president. How much information involving National Security will that dolt spill in an effort to destroy the Bush Administration?

I skimmed a thread a while ago about the threats that officials seem to think may be imminent.

One possible attack site mentioned by a FReeper on the thread was Daytona ...... the first NASCAR race of the season is there this weekend.

..... the possibility meets several of the criteria of the evil ones .........

..... tens of thousands of people there
..... huge economic impact (DisneyWorld/SeaWorld/other huge tourist attractions not that far away) ...
..... travel and tourism industries once again hit hard
..... comes close to meeting the criteria of being an American landmark, though not quite ....... the sport and the drivers are American icons to millions of people, though.

This is pure speculation .... but a scary possibility.

I do make bread from scratch. Yum. Make sure your yeast is fresh and alive, I buy the yeast in bulk (like a pound at a time.) I take out a bit, and freeze the rest. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then add your water, which should be between 105 F and 115 F. I do use a thermometer to make sure the temp is just right. And it depends upon the method you are using to make the bread, as to the temperature of the liquid you are using to bloom the yeast with.

Appropriate Liquid Temperatures
Automatic Bread Machine 75-85 F
Traditional, dissolve yeast in liquid 110-115 F
Mixer Method, blend yeast with dry ingredients 120-130 F
Food Processor Room Temperature

I can't remember if I told you this already or not. One of the reasons I really began to question working at that English school is that just after the SOTU address, the director called me to ask about the work I was doing. Before he talked business, he told me how upset he had been during the speech and opined that we really lack leadership in Washington.

I am still aghast at that statement. It really planted doubts in my mind. Could I really expect to have a good working relationship there when the very epitome of good leadership is not recognized and is even disdained? What kind of leadership is there at a place like that when you get that kind of opinion from the people in charge?

Those doubts were more than confirmed the following week when I met for lunch with a Christian teacher who works there. He said the staff meetings regularly turn into Bush-bashing sessions with very extreme political views espoused.

I'm glad I'm not working there.

Yes, that is willful blindness, for sure!

Now Limbaugh is reporting the Bin Laden tape has been found by AL-Jazeera and will be broadcast?

This just great. Certainly ties the upcoming war with AQ, doesn't it?

And since we're about to go to war, I wish the above named long-absent people... & others as well...would come by to let us know how they're doing...WE miss you!

Yes, Molly, I wish people would check in as well! Even if they just sent a private freepmail or something so we know they are ok!

Utah Girl, I am very proud of you! I am wishing you were back home in Utah during this time, but I am sure you will be ok...it's just nicer to be close to family.

jtill...I, like you, think that some of the democrats do NOT have the best interest of our country at heart. Who ccan forget about Madeline Albright talking about how we shouldn't be the only super-power? Or Jimmy Carter sending people to Moscow to try to get them to help him defeat Reagan? Or any one of a hundred other things, like holding up Homeland Security, cutting military spending for 8 years under X-42, ignoring terrorist threats, etc?

I think Rush was being too nice.

Practice makes perfect when making bread. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer at home, and usually make my bread in that. Kneading bread is a great stress reliever too.

then yesterday, they shut everything down by noon...schools, colleges, town halls, etc..and lo and behold nothing significant happened till THIS morning,

Yesterday's snow wasn't deep, but it was really bad here. That was the weirdest looking snow I've seen. It looked fake, and was really slippery.

Did you hear that caller on Rush who said he thinks the OBL tape is a CIA ploy to focus Europe and the liberals on the task at hand? He said he thinks OBL has been dead for months and this is a ruse. Interesting idea and whether it's planned by the CIA or not, it does serve a useful purpose.

This just in on NRO (Byron York):

Just minutes ago, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle announced that Democrats will not allow a vote on the appeals court nomination of Miguel Estrada. Daschle told reporters that Estrada has not given the Senate enough information about his legal views to merit a vote. "The issue is our view that every nominee has an obligation to be forthcoming with information about his positions, with information about his record," Daschle said. "If we get the information, we will let every senator make his or her decision." If not, Daschle said, "We will continue to debate this issue."

Republicans are pledging to stand firmly behind Estrada, and they vow to debate the nomination for as long as it takes to win. A short time ago, Majority Leader Bill Frist said, "We're willing to stay today, tomorrow, tomorrow night, the next day, the next night, possibly Saturday, possibly into the recess." Frist told reporters, "I don't want to be in a position that the other side of the aisle says, 'You didn't give fair and adequate time for discussion.'" But he added that a filibuster of Estrada would have "dramatic political fallout" for Democrats.

Despite all the talk, it is still not clear whether Democrats plan to launch a formal filibuster. But there is no doubt that they plan to block the nomination for as long as possible while Daschle tries to gather the 41 votes required to uphold a filibuster. And so far, as Frist's comments indicate, Republicans have not yet decided to press the issue.

Thanks for the update on Estrada. I read an article in National Review Online, written by an Hispanic man, saying that the dems are pushing the Hispanics into the Republicans arms by their tactics on Estrada. As far as the Republicans doing anything, why do something when the enemy is so effectively killing themselves?
