We're back from attending the WV Republican Christmas party last night. It was very worthwhile. I had innumerable offers of assistance and expertise for my contemplated 2004 legislative run (including very sincere expressions of same from our only Republican member of the U.S. Congress!), we schmoozed and networked like crazy and pretty much committed me to throwing my chapeau in the ring. Yikes!

This should be interesting!

Good! I hope you do run. We need people like you in govt. I can then say, "I knew her when..." We're all in your boat:

What office are you considering? A Statehouse seat or a Congressional one?

When will your name be on the ballot?

You'd better get your "life" in order. Clean your closets, clean your cupboards and get ready to say goodbye to the "real world". You won't have much time to yourself once you make a solid commitment. And if you win, it will get worse.

Lower your housekeeping standards. Teach your husband to cook and do laundry,,, if he doesn't know his way around the supermarket,,, he's gonna have to learn,,, or starve.

Oh, and by the way, I'm glad you've decided to take the leap.

Run mountaineer Run! Congresswoman mountaineer sounds good. Or should it be congressman/person? I always get confused about this stuff.
