Good morning all, just briefly checking in...a verdict has come in on the David Westerfield trial, and I want to concentrate on that, and see what the verdict is...verdict should be announced in a few minutes now...
No construction trucks working today, tho I know they will be returning, because one can see they have not finished all their roadwork...BigDom and I think that they are doing all this roadwork, to get the roads all snappy for the school buses, which will be rolling here, in about 2 weeks...
I do miss the days, when the boys were small, and back to school shopping was always a big event....all new clothes, and all new school supplies, and of course, I was obliged to buy a few new toys or treats for the boys, who had to endure having to pick out their school supplies...
And of course, back to school shopping always included a stop off for a tasty Chik-Filet sandwich or a stop off at one of the local fast food joints...
When we lived in North Carolina, and we had heavy shopping to do, shopping of any sort, often I would have a ton of kids in my family 'station wagon'...when they heard I was taking my boys to the mall, kids would ask me if they could come with...I always said, yes, and hence I sometimes wound up with a whole group of 5-10 boys loaded in the car, and ready to shop....
After all the shopping was done, sometimes rather than going to a fast food joint, I would take all the kids to a place called 'Duffs', which was a large spread all you can eat buffet...and in I would go with this large group of boys...ages ranging from 5-15...the cashier always looked at me in amazement, wondering if I was looney tunes with all these boys, willing to turn them loose at the buffet table...
But in general, they were all well behaved, but being boys, ate like little piggies...after an hour or two, they had seemed to completely ravage the buffet table, and all satisfied and full, we all rolled out, and made out way home satiated with our food, ,and happy with our shopping purchases...
Days like that wore me out...but looking back on them, they were the most precious of days, stored up in my mind, to bring out, when I miss my 'little boys'....

Hi cookie
I missed your wonderful post at 920
you were sweet to take all those boys with you
I bet it was a sight when you walked into Duff's with all of them
you sure made back-to-school shopping fun for your sons (and all their friends) Love, Palo
