I also love the Murder She Wrote series...altho its no longer being produced, still the reruns are always on AandE channel, and I always enjoy seeing them....

Here is a funny little story tying that program in with my moms Alzheimers....

My mom is/was a great Agatha Christie fan, as am I...anyone who reads Agatha Christie realizes what a prolific mystery write she was, turning out one book/mystery a year....I believe she wrote about 65 books/mysteries, and also wrote several short stories, which were also mysteries...

And as any Agatha Christie fan knows, there were a few mysteries which had more minor detectives, or sleuths, but most of the mysteries usually had one of the two most famous of the Agatha Christie sleuths, the first being the Belgium detective, Hercule Poiror, who has been played in many movies, but the likes of Tony Randall, Albert Finney, Peter Ustinov, and David Suchet plays him in the TV series....

The other famous snoop in the Agatha Christie Mysteries was Miss Jane Marple, an elderly spinster woman, who was a snoop, and had a good nose for rooting out the villian....

Jane Marple was my moms favorite, altho she also enjoyed Hercule Poirot...Now Jane Marple was played by various actresses in film....Margaret Rutherford was one, and Joan Hickson plays her in the TV series....but Angela Lansbury also played Miss Marple in at least one Agatha Christie movie...

Now, when Murder She Wrote first came on air, of course it was Angela Lansbury playing the mystery writer, and all round snoop, Jessica Fletcher....at this time, my mom was in the early to mid-state Alzheimers...and when she saw Angela Lansbury playing a sleuth, she totally ignored the fact that she was playing Jessica Fletcher, as mom had it ingrained, that the character was Miss Marple, from her beloved Agatha Christie mysteries...

No amount of discussion could convince, in her mental state, that Murder She Wrote was about Jessica Fletcher, not Miss Marple...mom remembered Angela Lansbury playing Miss Marple and that was that as far as she was concerned...so we just let it go...

But then it got worse...mom inadvertently changed the name from Miss Marple, to Miss Marble...whenever it was the day and time to watch Murder She Wrote, mom started asking "Is it time for Miss Marble?"...That used to drive my aunt Helen wild....mom had the wrong character, and now she even had that wrong characters name wrong....poor mom, so muddled, yet so happy watching her Murder She Wrote, with Miss Marble...

To this day, whenever I watch Murder She Wrote in reruns on AandE, I still call her 'Miss Marble'....Alzheimers can be such a devastating disease, yet it can provide for some dear chuckles and smiles...'Miss Marble', was a product of my moms demented mind, yet it is very dear to me...

I sure can yak on and on...
