I found article bout history of National Enquirer interesting (grannie's weird link today)
I didn't know any of that
seemed to me the Enquirer was just ''always there''
altho headline were weirder and more imaginative way back
I don't think the article is accurate
back in nyc my friend Jill was free-lance writer
she accepted assignment to write article about ''left-overs'' for Enquirer's food section
(this was back in mid '80s)
I don't remember what recipes she came up with
I do remember her recipes had to be checked by 3 independent sources to verify for accuracy
she went to Columbia University, NYU (maybe they each had nutrition departments)
and also NYU school for institutional cooking in midtown
(this meant traipsing all over Manhattan)
she got the heads of all 3 departments to write the necessary letters for her
then she got paid $350 from National Enquirer
the article on weird link disparages, saying two sources (but Jill required 3) and says National Enquirer pays for them
was Jill supposed to pay?
I have believed every word I read in Enquirer afer Jill's experience
cause look what they put her thru to write article about egg salad

Good morning all...I am up early today, and its really morning, rather than almost the afternoon...
Today, here, this morning, its rather chilly, just 50 degrees, but we may hit 70 by this afternoon...perfect weather, so far as I am concerned...
Kathleen, I also used to make all our bread by hand, thumping that dough, kneading and all...it was always a lot of work, but somehow I did not mind...but that was many years ago, and I look forward to my bread machine doing the work for me...
Sunday was always my bread making day, for some reason...In the winter, I always made a big pot of homemade soup, and several loaves of bread....the house smelled so great, with a steaming pot of homemade soup simmering, and the smell of the yeast in the bread dough....
I love the smell of yeast...I always remember as a kid, you could tell when mom was making homemade bread or sweets, because the smell of the yeast was wafting through the house...
There is nothing so yummy, as a thick slice of hot freshly made bread, dripping with a big dab of butter...
