Are the leaves turning over there? Leaves are starting to drop! I have about 14 oaks in my yard (we hates them, we hates them). Sometimes they'll hang on through the winter. But they fell earlier last year because it was dry. I expect they'll be mostly down by October/November. We've lost a few leaves, but I'm mostly getting the long pine needles right now from the neighbor's yard. It works out, he gets a fair share of my Oak leaves.

I was out scoutin' this weekend, all of the small streams are bone dry... Heard on the radio this a.m. that the James River is the lowest it has been in 64 years.
Also heard that yesterday was a purple ozone alert, which is worse than red and is dangerous even for healthy people.

Well I stopped a one and then had three chocolate ice creams... I had strawberry ice cream (they were out of mint chocolate chip), so I'll just count it as a fruit.

Where are the hobbitses and the homelier dwarf this mornin'?... You'd best be talkin' about someone we haven't met.
I got up earlier to run some errands and to get to work earlier. So naturally I was later than usual...(but I got the errands taken care of)

Good morning all my fellow Hole Dwellers! How are you?? Happy birthday Ksen! You are 4 years my junior.
It has stopped raining here but is still overcast. It rained hard till after midnight last night! We got a good hard sleep out of the deal though. I love to sleep during rainy weather!

I just need to work out when to breathe!LOL! I know what you mean! If I am practicing a really hard tune (or a new one that I don't know) then sometimes I find myself forgeting to take a breath at all and I'll blow and no air will come out! Or I start feeling light-headed with spots before my eyes!

Makes me remember why I like playing strings instead of wind instruments!
Though I admit to being jealous of the fact that my brother can tuck his tin whistle into his pocket and take it everywhere. Even small stringed instruments aren't THAT portable...
What are you guys playing?

I just need to work out when to breathe! Especially since on the CD they're playing guitar and fiddle...the CD guys are breathing already!

What are you guys playing? Tin Whistle
To: Overtaxed; RosieCotton
Yes, tin whistle!! What do you play? I feel a springle-ring may be in order here!

Guitar and mandolin...see it on your profile.
We should be able to organize something for the Entmoot 2004, don't you think?
To: Overtaxed
One of my my brothers plays tin whistle. Actually, a couple of us play occasionally, but it's Bill's main instrument when he's playing with the rest of us. He has about four in different keys, plus a low whistle, which has a really beautiful sound...kind of like an Irish flute.
And, as I mentioned, he has one with him at all times. I play a little guitar, mandolin, and I'm starting to learn fiddle. Fiddle is threatening to become as much of an obsession as LOTR, or more, though it the hardest thing I've ever tried to learn. I'm convinced the bow spend all its non-playing time in the case plotting evil things...
To: RosieCotton
I've got two. One in D and one in C. I don't think I could reach the holes on a low whistle.
