Let's start a new page!

Okay.

Got the grapes! Starting a microbrew today.

So Penny is alive just disconnected still. Good!
[yawn] Hullo! - Good Morning! I am up, but I am not committed to it.
To: HairOfTheDog
A few cups of coffee will cure that!
To: Overtaxed
I have a cup in front of me.... I still think I am gonna hit the couch for awhile. I haven't read chapter two yet... I shall see if I can get through that without slipping back into sleep!
Talk to you later!
To: JenB; Corin Stormhands; sneakypete
By the way... last night I had a dream.
I dreamt that Spongebob Squarepants was created by a FReeper, sneakypete. He posted it in a thread. Don't ask me why I drug poor sneakypete into this little game (forgive me sneakypete!)
Jen, I pinged you and Corin to the thread, and you refused to be nice! I am sure you would have been banned if I would not have woke up!
There was this dancing Spongebob Squarepants gif at the top of the thread, and I guess it was just making you crazy.

I sure with I could go back and lay down! I got up busting around getting ready for church and then Josh has the sniffles. I'll go back to bed when Steve gets in and take a nap!
My rutabagas are up, but something keeps eating them before they get a half inch tall! I actually think it's ANTS!
To: sneakypete
I realize none of the above post will make sense to you, but I didn't think it right to accuse you of something like that without pinging you!
Spongebob Squarepants has come up now a few times on the thread, and we have been kidding around with it and using it to give Corin a hard time.
Jen thinks Spongebob is evil.
I don't know why I had a dream about it, and I don't know why you got sucked into it. I can't explain my subconscious. It does mysterious things. I hope this helps!

"Got the grapes! Starting a microbrew today."
Does that mean that your're going to stamp around in them barefoot? :-)

FEAR! FIRE! FOES! AWAKE!
COLD TOLERANT FIRE ANTSWith no natural enemies outside South America, fire ants have spread across about 275 million acres in the past 80 years, mostly in southeastern United States. Isolated colonies have also been found in Delaware, New Mexico and California. They've also turned up in Australia.
The aggressive predators, which crowd out native ants, live in the ground and build mounds above their colonies. Fire ants feed on crop seedlings and can damage farm machinery by their mounds. When disturbed, they swarm out of their nests and sting repeatedly, and can kill newborn deer and quail hatchlings. Their stings usually cause only pain and discomfort to humans, but can prove fatal to people allergic to their venom.
Careful 2J... gardening is very dangerous!

Not since I saw that episode of "I Love Lucy". :)
I usually put them in a bowl and punch 'em good.

Once when we still lived in Texas and Matthew was a baby, he sat in a fire ant bed. We were living in a house that had a pool and we were out by the pool. My nephew looked down and saw Matthew covered with fire ants! He jerked him up and jumped in the pool with him! Still, he was stung about 50 times on his back.

Got the grapes! Starting a microbrew today. How do you do it? Sounds like an interesting science experiment!
To: HairOfTheDog
I kill fire ants by pouring mineral spirits on their nests. It works. 'Course it kills the grass completely too.

I sure wish you were all having lunch with us today! I'm not having anything fancy...just plain hobbit fare. Roast beef with little onions from our garden, rice (we buy it in 25# bags, as is our habit), and little crook neck squashes, sliced up and sauteed in butter. A tomato and bell pepper salad (from garden). Tea and milk.
To: 2Jedismom
That lunch sounds delicious. If Overtaxed can hurry up with the wine...
When my daughter was very small she once got into some fire ants. I don't think she recovered for a day or two, though it's been so long, I don't remember exactly.
To: 2Jedismom
The first part is a lot like making sourdough starter. I mush the grapes up and add a syrup to it. I
could add yeast to it, but there's enough yeast on them already (the whitish "sheen" on the outside of the grape.) Then add water to cover and put a linen towel over it. Stir it down every day for about 3 days until all the sugar is worked out. (Tastes
really dry.) Then I strain it through an old pillow case, add more syrup and bring to volume in a glass jug and put a water seal on it and let it bubble. I adjust the sugar and water according to how many grapes I have (1 gallon of grapes = 1 gallon wine.)
Lunch sounds good! Why didn't the invite come after I put the ribs on the grill?
To: Sam Cree
. If Overtaxed can hurry up with the wine... It'll be a while unless you like really raw stuff!
To: Overtaxed
duh....before the ribs on the grill....
