It depends on the baseline by which you measure price increases against.

Just a cursory search, and it looks like Trump's change is what has been added to Biden's increases. So while Trump's may be a lower percentage, it is a slower pace of increase, but not less.

This is where Trump continuously gets himself in trouble. He ran on the promise to lower prices, and that has not happened. Consumer costs up, U.S. debt up, etc.

If people use this to say that Trump hasn’t improved things, think about where we’d be today with a President Kamala Harris.

That's an argument that's often made. But the reality is, that it just doesn't matter because she wasn't elected. The person that gets measured is the one sitting in the chair.

RE: a cursory search, and it looks like Trump’s change is what has been added to Biden’s increases

Not sure if this is correct. I asked Google Gemini.

1. What was the price of natural gas on January 2021, Trump’s last day in office in his first term?

Answer: in January 2021, the benchmark Henry Hub natural gas spot price averaged $2.71 per million Btu (MMBtu)

2. What was price of natural gas in January 2025, Biden’s last day in office?

Answer: In January 2025, the benchmark Henry Hub natural gas spot price averaged $4.13 per MMBtu

3. What is the price of natural gas now?

Answer: The benchmark Henry Hub natural gas price is $2.91 per MMBtu

How can the price of natural gas have been ADDED to the Biden increases ( $4.13 ) when they are $2.91 now?

If the person who gets measured is the one sitting in office, then the trend for natural gas ( as one example ) is clearly IMPROVING. That some people who vote don’t know this does not change the fact.

And that’s the tragedy, many people vote based on emotion, not logical reasoning. But that doesn’t change what good voters OUGHT to do.
