At this point its pretty clear pilot effed up, or at very least decided to continue with a landing, after exiting the landing envelope at multiple stages, thinking they could save it.

I’m not naive enough to believe this is the first or last pilot to decide to continue to attempt a landing in such situations rather than a go around, and most often those that choose too wind up getting away with it.

From what it looks like, the last second attempt to try a go around and then back off it, rather than just break with everything might have stopped it from hitting the road... Had the air breaks and reverse thrusters been deployed and they gone all in rather than spend 4 seconds trying to take back off, they likely would have not reached the road...

Well, like I always say, I enjoy the career I am in.. when I make a mistake, it stinks, but nobody dies.
