I don't understand it at all - as it seems the only damages they could have incurred was delaying them having to spend money on gas and losing around a half hour tops to get to the next clerk's office. That is all they should have been awarded - a tank of gas and maybe the cost of a nice steak dinner for the loss of time. Did her attorneys not make that case in the trial?
