According to one account, the three friends needed to return to the mainland because their boat was starting to take on water. The guy that drowned didn't want to leave because he was apparently hitting on a girl, and said he would catch a ride back with someone else. For whatever reason, the guy ended up in the water, and you know the rest. The usual suspects are trying to turn this into some racial BS, but it sounds like it was an unfortunate but not uncommon accident. TBD, of course.
