An HIV soldier is wounded on the battlefield. His blood gets into an open gash of a medic, who subsequently develops HIV. The DOD gets sued. The Army’s lawyer claims the medic is lying and got HIV from closeted homosexual activity—prove us wrong! His wife, parents and children are heartbroken. He ends his own life. The HIV guy mostly recovers, gets disability for life, and parties on.
Not an outlandish scenario.
HIV is a ticking time bomb. The transmission of it ought to be a federal crime. Carelessly exposing someone to it, by sex or otherwise, should also be criminal. Those trying to donate blood who test positive for HIV should also see a severe criminal sentence. They lied on the questionnaire.
