Understanding “Died as a Result of Misadventure”

Legal Definition

The activity carried known or inherent risks.

An unexpected, unintended, and fatal outcome occurred.

Dorset coroner Rachael Griffin concluded today that Dr Ahmed died as a result of misadventure.

Oddly, St.Floyd's death from 3 times the lethal dose of fentanyl was deigned to be murder and not misadventure.

“Died as a result of misadventure” means the death was accidental but tied to a lawful, voluntary risk — not intentional harm..

In the cases of Floyd and Ahmed, the fentanyl ingestion and syringe were not lawful..
