IMHO, the growth of divorce is part of leftist lawfare and BS daytime TV.

Growing up in the ‘60s I had one or two schoolmates whose parents had been divorced, and it was something you didn’t openly discuss.
In today’s culture divorce is readily available, commonplace and in many cases advocated, whether it’s justified or not.
That might be great for mom and dad, not so much for the kids.
