“It not only repairs the weakened signals between neurons, but also restores associative memory, one of the early abilities lost in Alzheimer's.“
Calcium alpha-ketoglutarate (CaAKG) is readily available as a supplement. You want the calcium form of AKG.
We make less of this as we age.
From the paper:
“Ca-AKG, a calcium derivative of AKG, has emerged as a promising compound with potential benefits for aging and neurodegenerative diseases (Asadi Shahmirzadi et al. 2020; Zhang et al. 2023). Our previous work demonstrated that Ca-AKG supplementation extends lifespan and improves healthspan in mice (Asadi Shahmirzadi et al. 2020). Compared to free AKG, Ca-AKG offers several advantages, including greater chemical stability and improved bioavailability. Ca-AKG is acidic and absorbed more slowly in the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in a gradual and sustained release into the bloodstream. This prolonged absorption profile enables Ca-AKG to maintain its biological effects over an extended period, potentially enhancing its overall efficacy. Furthermore, AKG is a charged molecule with limited ability to cross cell membranes (Wu et al. 2016). “
There are multiple newer approaches to attack Alzheimer’s Disease and/or dementia, including a low carb diet or forms of fasting, the Mediterranean Diet, and supplements I’ve recently posted on, which include ultra-low-dose lithium orotate, EGCG (green tea) with Vitamin B3/nicotinamide.
Lithium loss ignites Alzheimer's, but lithium compound can reverse disease in mice (Lithium orotate)

Some say the medical cabal already has cures for Alzheimer’s, cancer and other chronic illnesses.
That they’re not telling us about.

Notice that long, exotic-sounding metabolite contains the word “keto.”

I always thought I could be an Alzheimer’s model, but my friends said I had lost my mind.
I notice that some brands add Vitamin C in the form of Calcium Ascorbate to the AKG Supplement. Is that the same as Calcium alpha-ketoglutarate (CaAKG)?
