Most who carry carry extra mags. Most who carry don't fight Federal officer a few times a month, but if they do they don't carry while engaging armed officers.
All true. I have handled weapons and practice shooting since I was around ten years old... very little the last 10+ years. I have never desired a concealed carry permit and had met all of the necessities - and now I guess one can open carry in Florida. At my age I would worry that some desperate thug would sneak up on me and grab the weapon away from me.
I know for sure since childhood that if I had possession of a fire arm - for whatever reason - and I had a meeting with a LE officer, I would immediately inform him/her that I was in possession of a firearm and offer to surrender it if need be.
Alex Pretti violated all of that. He knew to carry extra magazines yet failed to identify that he carried a weapon to LEOs. All of that indicates to me that his judgment was impaired at the moment... doubly curious if he had a broken rib. Believe me, if you had a broken rib you would hate to leave the house let alone get into a scuffle with officers in a tense situation.
