Yup, the phone was in the officer’s hand - although I cannot tell whether or not he was holding the phone when he drew his gun and fired it or when he was struck by the car.

Serves to solidify the quote “trust but verify”.

My observations:

At about 8:46 in the video, you can see a reflection of the officer holding the phone in his right hand.

At 8:57 you see his left hand (possibly adjusting or mounting camera to vest mount - just a guess)

9:07 - shots fired. Camera did not appear to have been dropped (momentarily showed sky, then back to “normal” view). Don’t know of anyone that could hold onto a phone and shoot under duress at the same time.

9:58 - during the shooting sequence, the officer fires with his right hand, his left hand appears empty as he deflects off of the SUV. If the phone was in his left hand, I think that the view would have been of the hood and windshield for a split second.

Just my 2 cents worth...
