"$80 a month and free equipment."

Confusing. They say No upfront hardware costs and also refer to rental fee and their site lists a one-time kit fee due at start of service.

Yes, it is confusing. I started with Starlink on Dec 04, so I have recent experience.

There are two standard price tiers, $90 and $120. There are also a number of specialty services, such as Commercial and mobile, for different prices.

The full price for H/W is $350, but you may receive discounted offers. The no initial charge offer a rental, which is basically a rent-to-own deal. It’s yours after a year, but if you return it in the first year you may have to pay full price.

I went with the H/W at no cost option, at the $120/month option. I had to agree to a rental contract, but the rental fee is simply the monthly service fee, $120/month.

After ordering the kit, I had second thought, so tried to cancel. They offered me free installation to prevent me cancelling, so I accepted that. There is a 30 day trial period, so I could still cancel, but I won’t.

The lowest download speed I have seen is 16 mbps, which is also the highest speed I saw with the fiber optic cable I used to have.
