I am strongly considering switching to Starlink.
I am about fed up with lousy service and high prices from Spectrum cable.
Not to mention the taxes added to the bill.
$80 a month and free equipment.
I don’t know why am waiting except that I will have to install the thing myself.
I have had StarLink for about 6 months now. Its by far the best I’ve had. I can’t get cable here and tried DSL and Dish they both stunk.
You can buy a StarLink setup at Amazon now.
Getting ready for their IPO later this year ... along with OpenAI.
I would like to get Starlink, but my house is surrounded by tall trees.
Just remember folks...Big LEOs can’t work.
*smirk*
I’ve been tethering off T Mobile for years. Hundreds of gigs a month way faster than any local internet providers. It is rare when I need internet out boon docking in the RV but even then there have only been a couple places without service where I wanted it. Maybe look in to it. The senior plan is only $45 a month.
... someone pass this article on to AOC ...
I switched over from Spectrum to Starlink last month and am well pleased with the change. I did opt for the free installation of the equipment but decided to do it myself and cancelled when I saw how easy the dish is to put up. BIG MISTAKE!
I didn’t realize that climbing my roof at 77 was a good bit more difficult than it was at 50. (Not to mention my wife being upset about me being up there). I got a notice that I was 10 degrees off with the alignment, but since the signal is great, that will have to wait until spring when I will hire a young person to adjust it.
Wow there is a one time demand surcharge of $500 in my area to get started. Then $120 a month. First bill is $799. What a load of bull. Think I will pass.
My daughter has it. She loves it because she’s all over the place in NY and Ma...and other states where they camp.
We are considering Starlink when we move to our rural property. Right now we have Hughes net hooked up to the RV there but at $73 per month and soon to go up we may just go with Star link and be done with it.
