Personally, I think the smart play there at the end was to go for the first down/touchdown. Even a successful field goal would have resulted in Indiana getting the ball back with time to spare, and the buckeyes could have lost that way. Or they could have lost an overtime even if they had made the field goal.
Curt Cignetti = best football coach in America, college or pro
JMU, Tulane? Why?
Because they were among the top five ranked conference champions.
If you aren’t going to allow those conferences in the playoffs, then drop them to the FCS.
Iβm surprised and elated.
We had the best win (at UGA),stronger schedule than ND and the most top 20 victories. I also appreciate that the committee took our injuries into consideration.
Alabama fans are convinced that Simpson is injured. A few weeks ago (either Carolina or Tennessee) Ty took a vicious hit and hasnβt been the same since that hit.
We also get an opportunity to avenge our loss to OU. We gave that game to them due to ridiculous turnovers.
What a wonderful birthday gift. Happy birthday to me:)
No, you’re not telling the whole story. The series before the missed FG they went on 4th and 1 and the call was overturned after initially giving the Bucks a 1st down. That play should’ve been run on 3rd down
They may need to do that.
The amazing thing is that Fielding has missed only a few FGs this season.
Yesterday was IUβs day. They deserve the win. It was an enjoyable game to watch. Some missed calls, but in both directions.
I am happy for the Hoosiers. (I live among them now, but they are really nice people.)
π§π₯ππ‘πππ‘π: Indiana superstar QB Fernando Mendoza's post-game interview has gone viral ππ
One of the greatest interviews you will ever see.pic.twitter.com/1Gcp3AE7XUβ Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) December 7, 2025
They barely saw winning seasons before. nothing close to a championship. I say this as a fan. This is a miraculous coach and team.
He wrapped up the Heisman.
Florida a basketball school, and Indiana a football school.
The world has turned upside down.
Didn’t know which play you were referring to. But I could have gone either way on that first 4th down to which you are referring. Pinning the other team within the 5 is always a good consolation prize if you don’t make it.
I will root for them. Need fresh blood in CFP.
Notre Dame out, that powerhouse James Madison in.
I am rooting for Texas Tech to win it all.
Don’t lose your first two games of the season.
“Alabama, Miami in, Notre Dame out.”
ND out, JMU IN
Not when your offense can’t get into the end zone. Third and one they ran a corner pattern to Jeremiah Smith and the pass was off. 4th and 1 they ran a QB sneak with Sayin who barely weighs 200 pounds. That play should’ve been run on 3rd down when the defense is more spread out.
IU got the ball back and I believe three plays later was when Mendoza hit Becker on a 45 yard pass then hit Surrat in the end zone for a TD 2 plays later to go ahead for good
Cignetti made Day look foolish
And Duke, also a basketball school, won the ACC football championship, too. Upside down, indeed!
I stand corrected- the IU touchdown to go up 13-10 was the series before OSU gave up the ball on downs
Mendoza won the Heisman last night
