“Tim Walz is not a charged participant in the Minnesota Somali fraud cases,” but he is facing federal investigations into his administration’s handling and oversight of the state programs from which the funds were stolen.

Federal prosecutors have charged at least 86 individuals, many of Somali descent, in connection with schemes that stole more than $250 million (and potentially up to $1 billion across various programs) in federal and state funds, particularly from a child nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 50 people have been convicted.

The Somali fraud involved creating sham nonprofits that billed for meals and services that were never provided, with some funds allegedly diverted overseas to a terrorist group, al-Shabaab.

Allegations Against Walz: A group purporting to represent hundreds of Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) employees has alleged that Governor Walz’s administration was “100% responsible” for the “massive fraud” by ignoring early warnings from whistleblowers and retaliating against those who raised concerns. Critics, including President Trump and other Republicans, claim Walz’s administration was reluctant to act for political reasons.

Investigations and Walz’s Response: The U.S. Treasury Department and the House Oversight and Accountability Committee have launched investigations into Walz’s handling of the fraud and the alleged diversion of funds to a terror organization.

Walz has stated that his administration is actively prosecuting offenders, welcomes the federal investigation, and has implemented measures to combat fraud. He has also pushed back against what he calls “demonizing an entire community” based on the actions of a few individuals.

In short, the existing criminal charges are against the individuals who perpetrated the fraud, not against Walz directly. The current federal probes are focused on his administration’s alleged negligence and failure to stop the fraud sooner.

A third of Minnesota’s non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) reviewed in a recent audit by the Dept of Transportation (DOT) were illegally issued, Sec. Sean Duffy announced Monday. The review was conducted by the DOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) as part of the Trump’s crackdown on “unqualified non-citizens” endangering Americans on the roads.

The state has 30 days to come into compliance and revoke the illegally-issued CDLs, or risk losing up to $30.4 million in federal highway funding, a department press release stated. Officials wrote that Minnesota now has two choices going forward — “follow the law or lose funding.” … (Excerpt) Read more at breitbart.com ...

GOOD!

Now come to Maine and do the same thing. General Mills likely has a similar scam going.
