I would hesitate to try that if you’re a white male.
Sarah West last week decided that they got it wrong, overturning the verdict and issuing a judgment of acquittal.

Then what’s the point of even having a jury?
I was always under the impression that it’s the jury that convicts but it’s the judge that sentences.
What’s her cut of the $7.2 million ?

Note to self, we have that pesky thing called a bill of rights.
The judge had to let it go through the jury trial to abide by the whole, ya know... constitution thing... then went ahead and acted like they had King George tribunal powers anyway.
The law prohibits "double jeopardy".
A directed acquittal from the judge means the defendant cannot be charged again with the crime.
It has been my experience that behind an acquittal of this kind on obscure technicalities lies straightforward judicial corruption, rather than law or ideology.
Keep watching this judge.

You are wrong about the appeal in that it wasn’t with prejudice.It was without prejudice.It can be and is being appealed

Yet another obscure point of law of which I was not aware. I have never seen or heard of that being done either. This case should get interesting.
