5-minute charging

People are clueless as to how big an infrastructure commitment would be needed to support that level of power transfer and just how dangerous it is.

So ya, not buying it.

Lithium is toxic and explosively reactive to moisture. Aluminum is not. So there.

It’s all good until the government mandates.
Then it turns bad.

Sound great. But, how combustible are they? Charging a battery that stores 100K watt/hours in 10 minutes seems like it might generate a lot of heat.

That would be a lot current, do you need a 480V line run to your house?

Are you going to need a bottle of liquid nitrogen on hand to cool your battery while it charges.

If they catch fire, how easy are they to extinguish?

Cargo carriers burning to the waterline when a car battery catches fire is a bad thing.

Another breakthrough from Toyota!

They’ve been heralding various miracle batteries for a decade.

Then, crickets.

It’s a running joke.

Hilarious, but even if they could come up with the worlds most kick-butt battery; we would be raping the earth trying to get all the other materials and not have enough copper to transition to the solid vs. liquid economy that the world runs on. It’s stupidity on steroids.

There is a race between this and the 100 mpg carburetor.

What next? Outpatient penile implant surgery for only $500.

Gonna need network of something like NuScale’s SMR
(Small Modular(nuclear)Reactor) powered charging stations to pull that off.
