5-minute charging
People are clueless as to how big an infrastructure commitment would be needed to support that level of power transfer and just how dangerous it is.
So ya, not buying it.
Lithium is toxic and explosively reactive to moisture. Aluminum is not. So there.
It’s all good until the government mandates.
Then it turns bad.
Right you are. The energy needed for 1000 mile drive is a lot of kilowatts. To transfer so many kilowatts in 5 minutes? There is no such infrastructure possible in practical situations.
That would be a lot current, do you need a 480V line run to your house?
Are you going to need a bottle of liquid nitrogen on hand to cool your battery while it charges.
If they catch fire, how easy are they to extinguish?
Cargo carriers burning to the waterline when a car battery catches fire is a bad thing.
Homer Simpson can charge his car at work.
Another breakthrough from Toyota!
They’ve been heralding various miracle batteries for a decade.
Then, crickets.
It’s a running joke.
What’s the best way to invest in aluminum?
Sure there are a lot of maybe issues but just the fact of such announcements tied to Toyota makes it a BIG event.
There is no such infrastructure possible in practical situations.
Hilarious, but even if they could come up with the worlds most kick-butt battery; we would be raping the earth trying to get all the other materials and not have enough copper to transition to the solid vs. liquid economy that the world runs on. It’s stupidity on steroids.
I was going to say the same. The current requirements would be enormous.
“What’s the best way to invest in aluminum?”
Buy a mine. That will pay off whether the battery works out or not.
Homer simpson was super human 😂
Got you covered.

People are clueless as to how big an infrastructure commitment would be needed to support that level of power transfer and just how dangerous it is.
With Its Power Grid On The Verge Of Failure, California Begs Residents To Change Their EV Charging Routines (6.23.21)
but you still have to charge the thing . An EV nut wants gas pumps to run as slow as charging stations ,LOL
Flux capacitor at last!
I remember reading that. Their EV concept is so bad no one wants it, so the solution is to make everyone’s current experience with other solutions much worse to make you want theirs.
What utterly horrible narcissistic tyrants.
